Amazing property grounds

The smell was horrible. It smelled like old mildew/mold and humidity. We had to open the door to outside. It hits you right in the face as soon as you walk in the door to the building. The building is old and in need of updating and the room was no different. The room was clean but that’s about the only good thing I can say. I won’t be back to this property. This isn’t what I’m used to with Marriott. AND $20 to park is a rip off.

Pools and facilities were above average Did not expect a 20 dollar per day parking pass. Seem to cater to Marriott group members.

Great place will definitely will book it again in my next visit to Virginia.

The room was beautiful. Very comfortable bed, chairs and couch. The dinning table was the perfect size and the kitchen had almost everything you may need. The shower was spacious and the tub was huge! We did not use the amenities during our short trip, but the pool is lovey and they have a staff member there to hype up the party! The tub is in the bedroom with no vent, so the room got humid and gross after using it. Also the rooms have no humidifier so it felt sticky and hot the whole time. You can’t control the air either so the room was uncomfortable until the air would kick on. It was 90 degrees out and humid so the room didn’t feel that great. The hallway was cooler than the rooms. Also paying $20 to park and hopefully find parking near your room was a bit overpriced.

Check in with easy except for one thing I don't like the idea of the time share pitch because I didn't come there under a timeshare special and I don't remember seeing in any notes of booking that I would have to sit through a seminar.. other than that we had a great time. Being asked to sit on a seminar for a timeshare I just wanted to go on vacation I booked it very nice location very nice accommodating resort but I do not care for the timeshare pitch...

The 20.00 per night parking fee is absolutely ridiculous. We are not in New York City, etc.

We did like the hotel. But it was a little confusing getting there. The bistro was pretty sad. The girl at the counter knew that she was doing but overall it wasn't worth what we were charged.

Great location, beautiful area great for walks and have exercise facilities. I would definitely return. This is a timeshare facility and they are looking for people to become owners. So during the check-in, they asks you to come to a 1 hour presentation. I feel like the attitude changes if you refuse the 1 hour presentation. It's a 20 dollars a day parking fee and they put it on your parking pass but as I walk pass I seen tags with 0 per pay and no fee. I strongly believe the fee is waived if you agree to attend the presentation.

Excellent stay! Very clean, great location close to the outlets, shopping, and historic sites. Staff was delightful and made everything easy. Ford's Colony is beautiful and peaceful — we will be back!

The property itself was okay, but our studio was disappointing. It was cramped, dark, and definitely in need of updating. Several fixtures were visibly worn and rusted. The biggest issue was the humidity and odor. The room smelled strongly like onions and body odor, and everything felt damp—the sheets, curtains, and eventually even our clothes. We asked to change rooms and were told the property was full, despite the same room type showing available online. They brought us a heavy-duty dehumidifier, which helped, but they initially said they were out and eventually had to borrow one from another room. We ended up buying Febreze ourselves to make the room more tolerable. The lobby coffee machine was also out of service, and they charge $20 per day to park in an ordinary uncovered lot directly in front of the building, which seems excessive. On the positive side, the pool area was very nice and has a small grill/bar, and the grounds were pleasant. Overall, I expected better from a Marriott vacation property. The rooms need renovations, and the moisture/humidity problem needs a permanent solution. I wouldn’t stay again unless I knew those issues had been addressed.

The only complaint was that the elevator in the building was not working. Because we were on the 3rd floor, getting our luggage to and from the room was difficult. The information I received was that the elevator had been inoperable for months giving us little hope that it would be fixed during our stay. It wasn't. In my opinion, the management should have offered assistance with our luggage upon check-in. The price of the villa would cover that cost.

Clean room. Staff was friendly

Beautiful grounds. Off the beaten path on a gorgeous golf course. We had a one bedroom villa with nice new furniture, comfortable beds and kitchen with everything we needed. Very clean villa and overall property. Pools and amenities were great. Lots to do! Needs more food choices and pool bar/eatery closes at 6pm. Could be open later for food and drinks during the busy summer months.
