Residence Inn by Marriott Wilmington Downtown

Expensive for where it is. Property quite dated but room itself was great. Incredibly comfortable bed! Had an issue cancelling one of the nights I’d booked, but the manager went out of her way to resolve the problem. Resolution of issues that arise when travelling is very important and I’m pleased to say for that rating this hotel scored a 10!

One of the main things I look for in a property is cleanliness. I always am secure in booking a place that has a "brand" name because of its hopefully consistency in cleanliness. When we arrived we were told our room wasn't ready because they were short staffed. I told the guy that I am okay with waiting because cleanliness was most important to me. So we went to dinner and returned back to get our room. There were crumbs everywhere. When we looked around the beds, there were large dust bunnies and more crumbs. The counter tops were sticky and had watermarks from cups, clearly not wiped. And the thing that sent me over the edge was that there were large clumps of hair throughout. It clearly was rushed through. It also had a hint of cat urine smell and some of the crumbs I found looked to be litter. I knew if we stayed I wouldn't have gotten any sleep. So we left early and drove home. They didn't seem phased by this at all because they were short. So I had no other option. Disappointed.

clean property, nice breafast buffet. parking is difficult and i felt that i was imposing on the welcoming staff when i arrived but did have any questioned answered in accuracy and professionalism. a "hello" and a smile can go a long way.

Very nice . The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. The front desk staff were very rude. Didn’t want to help. There was no parking available and the front desk employee wasn’t helpful.

I reserved my stay a month ahead. When I arrived i was told that the hotel was overbooked and they had no availability for me. Now imagine YOU coming of an 8+ hour road trip to be told that there is no availability. Please reconsider another hotel before considering Residence Inn @ the Marriot. - they do not value YOU!

My room, as well as the hotel, was clean and well appointed. Very comfortable stay.
