Shell Island Resort - All Oceanfront Suites

Beautiful location. The staff was friendly. Beach is excellent. Had breakfast at the restaurant and it was good, the waitress was friendly and polite.

The place was really nice, the staff in front desk were really nice and kind thanks I will be back again 😀 😊

Nice place

The staff was excellent. However, the room was disappointing. The furniture was very old and dirty and the rugs on the floor were filthy. The outdoor furniture was very cheap and uncomfortable. There was no place to plug a phone in near the bed because the outlet was behind the headboard and not accessible. A simple extension cord would have been great.

Very nice resort. No waterfountain to fill up personal water bottles, the toaster and coffee maker were low end products, and the hours of the restaurant were confusing. Other than that, the staff were pleasant, the pool was clean and the rooms were comfortable.

Ocean front. Hotel staff was very helpful & friendly. Bar and restaurant was nice. Enjoyed our stay.

Was charged through Expedia and then again at the hotel….spending a considerable amount more than expected.

The views and space. The bed was horrible! Very hard and lumpy.

The downside, property-wise ... I cannot speak for every room, only the one we were in. The refrigerator didn't cool very well, and the temperature control knob was broken off so there was no way for us to alter this since we had no pliers; we called maintenance, who came promptly, and said the lower inside of the frig was good and that we shouldn't put things in the door and expect them to cool. The thermostat in our room was missing its front panel - the backup batteries were visible. For the money we paid I expect more. We had a cool flush-mount ceiling light fixture in the kitchen, but only 2 out of 3 bulbs were working in it. If you stay here, bring some power strips - the outlets are few and largely used by lamps, etc. The upside, property-wise ... our bed backed up to the outside hallway. I was worried that we were going to hear a lot of noise from outside as kids ran around and screamed in the early morning, but we did not. We closed the blinds on that side of the suite and it was great. The downside, town-wise ... we arrived on a Saturday and traffic was absolutely insane. We thought that we'd check out some of the shops downtown, only to find that people were waiting in 30-car-long lines for public parking. If you go on a weekend, set your expectations accordingly. The only safe haven is the resort.

The Beach was beautiful and ocean views fabulous! We also enjoyed the pool area which was well kept. Overall the service and staff need improvement. Restaurant and bar service was slow and spotty and the staff was new and often not helpful. We ordered dinner outside and waited for an hour only to find out they were out of most of what was ordered. Had to retrieve linens and towels as they were not available in the room. Also bring your own shampoo and toiletries as none available in the room or at the resort.

The property location was perfect. Went to order lunch and the bar restaurant was out of almost everything. The frozen drinks tasted like ice with a drop of flavoring and our meal ended up being hotdogs!

Clean, quiet, and beautiful beach.

We had a great stay at the Shell Island Resort. The location and access to the beach was great. The ocean view from the room was fabulous. It was nice to have the suite and an extra bathroom. This really helped when getting ready. The staff was great. The food at the restaurant was just ok, but service was really good. We only went once for breakfast. Renting the chairs was easy and super convenient. The hotel is not a luxury hotel, but it was clean and loved the ocean access and views. I would stay there again for sure.
