adding english speaking staff woul be a great idea, as xiamen gets visited by foreigners during such active/sport shows.

Every surface of this hotel is covered with cigarette and greasy food smell. I have to ask for an air purifier and spray with my perfume to stay in the room. The furniture was so dated, looks like from the year 2000. The TV signal is so fidget, no CNN or BBC channel is available. Will not recommend this hotel.

- Staff was super compassionate and understanding - We had an issue with our room smelling like smoke upon arrival and they assisted us in getting a new room - staff were able to assist us with a late check out - buffet breakfast was good and had a large range of options - non-smoking room smelt like smoke and as we were travelling with a one year-old, we could not leave her in this environment. Staff were quick to correct this

The room was good, the beds comfortable. The hotel was in the downtown area. Across the road, there were shops and food stalls that stay open until very late. The hotel is connected to a mall called Paragon, and it is walking distance to the subway station. The staff were very helpful but didn't speak English. The gym was huge and had a nice view. Overall, we still had a great experience. For a 5-star hotel, they should have at least one English-speaking staff, but they didn't. We booked this hotel partly because it had a nice swimming pool. However, it was closed (for winter). Booking.com should inform potential guests about this pool closure policy during winter. There are other hotels we could have chosen had we known about this. For the price of this hotel, Hilton Xiamen should offer free breakfast (especially since their pool was closed), but they didn't.

Location, cleanliness. As this is international brand hotel, English speaking staff must be placed everywhere not only at front desk.. I tried to order through in room dining but was not able to as none of them knew English.. it’s there duty to place English speaking staff at every department.
