LETE Hostel

Situated between downtown, bus station to/from airport, and railway station. Rooms are pretty basic but clean. Staff is very nice and eager to help you but do not expect any english spoken. 15th floor with elevator and last floor with stairs. Solo traveler in private room with bathroom No light switch by the bed but not really a problem

It was really a good place to stay for a shorter trip. Clean and cozy. We liked it. It was relatively cheap. The host was friendly and accommodating our requests.

Some leaking in the bathrooms during rain, and the lobby was always really hot. Some rooms were also hot (those without proper windows)

I loved this hostel! Even though on the app it said I'd be in a dorm, they gave me a private room. The woman who worked at reception was also super helpful for things like doing laundry, booking excursions on ctrip, etc. She only speaks Chinese but is very good at her job and helpful on WeChat. My only complaint was that the hostel owner, whose phone number is on the booking, was not very helpful for any of the things above. That's why i asked the woman at reception who was so great.

No breakfast was available. The paint and wallpaper was peeling off the walls because of water damage. The communal kitchen was dirty and seemed that it hadn't been cleaned in months. The toilet was dirty, and the floor of the bathroom was questionable as to whether it had been cleaned.

Remarkably good value. Don't be put off by the ugly building it is in. It's a warm and friendly place on the inside. lots of interesting little shops and eateries are nearby. And getting taxis to the sights too far to walk to is quick and easy

Everything was perfect! These pace is ready beautiful an oasis for travelers!

The lady staff who received us for check-in was really great. Staff responded on app messaging function prior to our visit. Great amenities in the neighborhood with small stores, fruit stores, eateries, and printer business around. This was supposed to be the go-to place for independent travellers, but it seems the owner has not been paying attention for maintenance / repair.

Price and location was good. Staff was very friendly, shared tea with our group. Property needs screes over windows for mosquitoes. Also fans would be nice to help ventilate the room at night.

Quiet neighborhood, very walkable. Smelled like cigarette smoke everywhere, it wafted into the rooms from other people smoking especially at night, the toilets always smelled of smoke and had cigarette butts on the floor. The electric timers in the lights don’t stay on long enough so you are in dark hallways when walking downstairs to the only toilets and showers. The common area is also unclean. No a/c and no ventilation in the rooms, very stuffy. Bathrooms not clean, showers are unclean.

The good thing about this hostel is that it's very cheap, and the staff is very nice. They stored our backpacks on the last day so we could explore the city before our train departed. There is always hot water in the showers and sinks, as well as hot water for drinking. Clean sheets, and the room smells good. The whole hostel has very beautiful plants. The photos don't correspond to reality; they must be very old. Currently, the place is old, deteriorated, and dirty. There are many stains, dampness, exposed cables, and broken things. It's cold, and there's no heating. Despite no-smoking signs, people smoke in the common areas, and it smells like tobacco throughout the space due to lack of ventilation. The bathrooms are in an interior area, with only 2 toilets, 2 showers, and 2 sinks for all the rooms, which is not sufficient. There's no toilet paper, and the bathroom bins are full. Beds are very, very, very hard.

Friendly staff, clean room with free upgrade

The female staff at the hotel was exceptionally accommodating. She efficiently arranged for my pre-ordered mails upon my arrival in XiNing, and provided thorough guidance on commuting to the train station and to nearby markets for shopping clothes and fresh produce. Moreover, she graciously upgraded my room without any additional cost.
