Oohira Hotel

There are several restaurants about 10 mins' walk away. The Sunrise gelande is also within 5 mins' walk. The room was spacious and the view of the town was quite pretty. Aside from the main baths, there are 5 private outdoor baths (露天風呂, two in the main wing and three in the east wing), which are on a free reservation basis between ~3 PM and ~9 PM, so if you check in late like we did, you might have to wait till 9 PM to go to one of those. However, it was great to enjoy them as a couple - we tried two of them, and might be back to cover the rest. The toilet in the room didn't have a washlet. It would have been nicer if there was undergound or 2nd floor passage between the two wings.

Great baths after long day of skiing. Staff were very helpful and attentive to needs. Shuttle service provided was very helpful (you will need them unless you like walking up hills). We were offered a free shuttle back to Yamagata so that was very helpful. Rooms were warm and spacious and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Location a bit difficult but just make sure to ask for shuttle and you'll be fine.

We had a great stay at Mogamitakayu Zenshichinoyu Ohira. Lots of onsens and the breakfast a mix of Japanese and western food. The hotel provided us with discount vouchers for ski hire and offered a shuttle service. Zao Onsen is a beautiful resort and the hotel was a short walk from the bottom of onsen no. 4 quad. Nothing

The fountain view was nice and the hotel was very clean. I wish I had known about the requirements to wear a swim suit in the onsen prior to coming. I must have missed where it was written

The english-spoken staff is helpful, as well as other staffs were nice. The private onsens are exceptional. There are 7 types of private onsens, and 5 of them are absolutely FREE! We love the stunning scenic view from both hotel area and also from private onsen. There was a bottle of delicious milk provided as after-bath service. The hotel also provide a ride to(and from) bus terminal and ropeways, as well as ropeway's discount voucher. The location is on the steep hill, good exercise if you get there by walking.

very friendly staff. many of them can explain in simple english. Private onsen is very fantastic. great room for family. the hotel is a bit far from bus terminal but no problem because hotel provide free shuttle van from hotel to many ropeway and also shuttle van from Yamagata st. to hotel (round trip).

Extremely lovely and cosy place to stay, friendly staff and excellent service. No drama staying at the hot spring, and it is the genuine hot spring. Everything is perfect, noting to complaint.
