The hosts were polite, helpful, and welcoming. This was a wonderful traditional experience, I'm so glad this was part of our first trip to Japan! Thank you for the umbrellas, the ladies were able to stay warm and dry to our next destination. Arigato! The view of Mt. Fuji is stunning!

It's Japanese style room. Very clean! Plus the great location where is super close to the lake! - no paved path from main road to the hotel's front door. It's so hard to pull the luggage with the wheels. - If you don't feel comfort to use public bathroom, don't book it.

We stayed for 2 nights from April 5, 2025. Luckily we got a big room with a great view of lake Yamanaka and Mt Fuji. It’s a Japanese style room. We stayed on the 2nd floor of the bldg adjacent to the main building where the shared bath (one for men and one for women) located. The shared bath has 5 showers and a rectangular tub for onsen (water temperature is very hot in the onsen). There are 3 toilets on the 2nd floor in our bldg shared among 4 rooms. The toilet rooms are very small. There are 2 sinks next to the toilet rooms. Everything was very clean and functional. There’s a big refrigerator and hot water dispenser with tea & coffee right outside our room. The owners are very nice and kind. They don’t speak English but used a phone with translation app so there’s no problem communicating. Highly recommended to order both breakfast and dinner here. Pay cash in advance when order with the owners. 1000 JPY for breakfast and 2000 JPY for dinner for one person. The food was plentiful, delicious and gorgeously displayed. There are steps away from Hirano beach where we took many beautiful photos of the sunrise on Mt Fuji. The hotel is 2 minutes walk to Hirano bus stop. The toilet rooms are very small. Also, it would be helpful if hair dryer was also provided at the sink in the other building adjacent to the building where the main bathroom is located.

This is the best place to stay in Yamanakako to have the most convenience access of the Hirano beach and to be ready for the Mt.Fuji photo taking before the sunrise (weather dependent), only if you are not picky about the facilities (new but not as modern as the expensive hotel). I am totally okay with shared washroom. The elder lady (front desk) is very nice, tho she cannot speak English, check-in and instructions are clear enough. She has prepared Chinese check-in instructions separately, so don’t worry about communication issues.

Hosts are very accommodating, but speak very little english. The view was spectacular. Also it states the breakfast is included, but we had to pay an additional fee because we used booking.com. It is a really good value stay for the area! They provide robes and towels. Make sure to plan your transportation ahead of time as buses can be a little inconsistent in the area depending on crowds. We went on a holiday so it was a bit troublesome getting to the area. Some things to note: communal bathrooms on each floor and shared space onsen-style showers in a separate building.
