I love family run businesses, but not when their service is not up to scratch. Make sure you get motel room when you book. If not you’ll be most disappointed. (Ring them direct to check). We had to move from our first motel room because it had not been properly cleaned and the cold water tap did not work. (Room 5). In our second room the fridge’s freezer had not been defrosted for far too long. Photo attached. Breakfast is not available but there is a dish and spoon if you buy your own cereal and milk. But no detergent to wash them. Seniors meals are no longer available but my pasta and prawns was good and almost too large. Only 5 people, including we two, used the dining room which is unusually low for a Friday night. On Saturday a group of 10 enjoyed a good generous meal. All that was needed to move it from good to very good is attention to detail. If we order “no tomato please” we mean no tomato. If we order “no chocolate” on coffee we mean that too.

The price. You get what you pay for TV remote didn't work. No electric blanket, kmart special heater that made more noise than a freight train. Un usable. Took at least 5 minutes for the hot water to come through. Shampoo dispenser didn't work or was empty, body wash dispenser didn't work or was empty.

Location is good I was annoyed upon booking in (I had already booked & paid online by Booking .com) that I was charged extra for a downstairs room (nothing about this in original booking. Also I booked an extra night & was charged an extra $45.00 for the extra night this despite the motel being virtually empty both nights.I have stayed at Burkes many times and this has never happened before!

Location is excellent. Being a pub as well is always a bonus. Rooms a very outdated, needs a few dollars spent on it.

It is in the centre of town and opposite the Terminus Hotel. It’s your typical country pub with its locals. The room is very dated and needs fixing up and cleaning. The smell of cigarettes which might have been from outside (the smoking area is at the back of the hotel). The shower was mouldy. The water was great on the first morning but on Sunday morning the water was luke warm at best. They need to replace the plug in the bathroom.
