Service throughout the property was also terrible. Restaurants changed orders without notice—for example, substituting chips for fries on a to-go order. Overall, the poor condition and service are not worth the high price. I would not recommend this hotel.

We had a cabin with two double beds. The cabin floor was not very clean because the door way design could not keep out the fallen conifer needles from the trees outside. The room was nicely furnished and cosy but for the price paid, one would expect a microwave oven and a mini fridge in the room. Parking was convenient though as there are parking lots outside each cabin. Check-in was efficient but the staff did not tell us that we had to key in two zeros before our 2-digit cabin number to log in to the free wifi. So, it took us a while and a second trip back to the reception to sort this out. Food options at Canyon Village were not as good as say Mammoth Hot Springs. Nevertheless, if you are looking to stay within YSNP, Canyon Village is a good choice given its central location.

Upon our arrival at 4 pm, dirty laundry and garbage were strewn across the corridor on two floors. Dirty carpet in the bedroom and hallway, not having been vacuumed for a long time in this old building. Apparently, the furniture isn't being moved to clean up, there was a lot of dust and trash from the previous occupants behind the bedside table. Half a roll of toilet paper for 2. No microwave in the building, we had to go to the main building to find one. It's a real tourist trap...the only advantage is being as close as possible to the Canyon.

The place was very dated, spiderwebs and dust in the rooms, stain, carpeting,

After a long day of running around the park it was nice to have several food options to choose from so close. We ate at 2 different places and both were very good.

My check-in was 3 PM. I showed up at 3 PM to check in and they said if you can wait till 5 PM will give you a better room. Why couldn’t I have the better room at 3 PM? I don’t think the girl at the counter should’ve mentioned that if I wait longer, I’ll get a better room check-in was supposed to be at 3 PM. It wasn’t necessarily a better room, but it had a better view facing the woods instead of facing the parking lot. As far as amenities were concerned, I was not informed of any amenities. Besides the lack of knowing the amenities, and the girl at the front desk telling me if I waited longer, she could give me a room facing the woods instead of the parking lot. Everything else was good.

When making reservations, request for quite cabin not near housekeeping, ice machines, noisy roads etc. Hotel gave us everything we did not want including a filthy cabin room. We immediately contacted front desk and housekeeping. Housekeeping did not have anyone to clean the room, but did bring a vacuum for us to clean cabin ourselves, and shampoo body wash conditioner, which the housekeeper used a writing pen to help push product into the containers. After working diligently to clean our own cabin, we went to take a shower and the plumbing would not drain. So once again, we contacted the front desk and they sent out a plumber to unclog the tub / shower, no attempt was made to cleanup the mess that they created. So once again, it was left upon us to cleanup. The hotel management have a motto that they are "all ears", but every time we or others presented them with a problems hotel staff & management made were excuses at $400+ a night this is ridiculous and completely unacceptable. Recommend driving an extra thirty minutes and staying in a commercial hotel who work hard for your business. Awful experience.

Definitely the nicest lodge and biggest room we stayed in the park. Would recommend to stay most of your nights here.

Parking was convenient w/well-marked paths and signs to walk to food & convenience store. Highly recommend!

We were very disappointed in this property. The room had no air conditioning and it was just ok. It was nice to be inside the park but so not worth the money.

The property is absolutely beautiful, clean brand , environmentally conscious. Nicely decorated however the bed was too soft . The pillows were absolutely horrendous. They were four small baby pillows that barely fit under your head. There was the tiniest sheet ever for your cover. It did not keep you warm or feel snugly. In the morning the coffee was fantastic yet we did not have any creamer. it was a very unrestful night and then not having creamer made me especially grumpy as we checked out at 5:30 am to go see animals.

Loved this place so much, would stay in it again, room was clean, and parking was easy to find always. Loved the magical forest vibe that staying in this place gave me. Miss it already.

The rooms are nicer than I thought they’d be. There is no a/c which people should be prepared for. The main issue we had was spotty housekeeping after requesting it - one bed made and changed, the other in disarray, in a room where both beds were being used. It’s a great location in the park.

The staff gave us the wrong key card so we had to walk All the way back to the check in desk to get them fix.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Parking infront of our cabin which allowed us to quickly unload and load things. Cabin is spacious and would have been better if they have provided mini refrigerator.

The location was very good but having no A/C or TV for the cost of the room was very disappointing. The food at the eatery was also just fair, the pizza and ice cream were good.
