Grand Hotel De Djokja

Our stay at Grand Hotel de Djokja was simply outstanding. My partner and I stayed for three days, and we enjoyed every moment of our experience there. Every member of the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. Their service, smiles, and willingness to help all felt sincere and personal. From the moment we checked in until the day we left, everything was handled beautifully and made us feel truly valued as guests. The hotel itself is newly renovated, elegant, and impeccably clean. The bedsheets were fresh and felt luxurious, making our stay even more comfortable. The bathroom and complimentary toiletries were also thoughtfully curated and classy. We especially loved the rattan sandals — such a lovely and memorable touch. We appreciate the complimentary photoshoot by Loft Moments. The team was professional, warm, and made the experience enjoyable. We now have one of the photos displayed in our home as a sweet reminder of our wonderful stay. The breakfast deserves special recognition — it was truly remarkable. We stayed at three other hotels in Jogja during our trip, and Grand Hotel de Djokja had by far the best breakfast experience. From the fresh juices, jamu (and how they served it) to the variety of traditional Indonesian and Western dishes, everything was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The restaurant staff were also incredibly attentive and helpful throughout. We wish we could remember and mention every single staff member who made our stay special, but we would especially like to acknowledge sweet Lina and her colleagues at the restaurant, attentive Agung and his colleague at the front desk, Pak Rudy at the concierge, the kind lady at the bar who helped take our photos by the gamelan set, and the lovely team from Loft Moments photography. Even days after our stay, we still find ourselves talking about the wonderful memories we made at Grand Hotel de Djokja. Thank you for such a heartfelt and unforgettable experience. Danke schön. We had an absolutely amazing stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The decoration and overall atmosphere were beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. We truly felt comfortable and at ease during our entire stay. The staff was exceptionally kind, attentive, and welcoming. There is honestly nothing negative to say. They even gave us a special attention to celebrate our two-year anniversary as a couple, which made the experience even more memorable and meaningful for us. We genuinely recommend this hotel 100% to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful, and unforgettable experience.

Very nice breakfast buffet with Western and local options. Location is perfect for walking along Malioboro St , people watching, and riding in horse-drawn carts. Staff were friendly. I especially enjoyed hearing and viewing lobby photos of the history of the hotel building from a friendly male employee who worked there since 1991 and whose daughter is turning 17 (I forgot his name). Room was a nice size, & shower was comfortable. The drain in the shower had a noxious sewer smell rising up between showers. It also was slow to drain the water. We wanted to tell the staff at check out but forgot. The windows were not soundproof so we heard a lot of noise from activity on Malioboro street. And the door to the adjoining guest room was not soundproof so we clearly heard conversation from guests there.

The food was superb! The room is comfy and the location is great. Our bathroom was smelly. Well, we were out almost all the time, but once we got back to the room, it was really disturbing.

friendly, helpful staff and excellent breakfast with various choices - Horrible noise from the train station, the street and the mosque next door. We couldn’t sleep even with earplugs and a pillow above the head! - Very, very old furniture and amenities, the hotel needs urgent renovation. Furniture is chipped and discolored, outputs don’t work, bedsheets and towels are stained. The bathroom is a disaster - bathtub and toilet are yellow with dark stains, not white. Mold and fungus everywhere. - Lack of „do not disturb/clean my room” sign. - Long waiting time for the elevators. - Pool area is quite old, needs renovation. Not worth the money at all…

Location is great! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Massage was very relaxing. Menu was a mix of western and Indonesian food, which help us to try new things. Some noise from the main road at night, but did not disturb our sleep

The Hotel is located just in the Malioboro street. Great location for a short visit in the city. Big and well organized hotel. Exquisite breakfast, having almost everything. Super friendly and helpful stuff. The restaurant for the dinner should have a better menu. I tried more than 3 main plates and all of them were a little poor in regards to meat. For example a plate with rice and duck, had only a thigh of a duck. No meat at all... In a restaurant of a hotel like this, these things are important. You should take a dinner there more advanced like eating on the street...
