View is good toilet at suite is too

Cool building and deco. Nice and helpful staff! It’s getting old and they need to do better with maintenance. 3 of the doors didn’t work properly. Also I didn’t like the paper slippers- not comfortable and my feet hurt walking around a lot. They should provide real slippers. Also the sofa in my room was very old and uncomfortable.

It is a Victorian style Airbnb hotel, located out of the city, about 10-15mins drive to city centre. Booked the rooftop terrace which gave the beautifully unblocked view of sunset and sunrise. Unfortunately I drove to Yilan. Hotel feels a little under-maintained. Unknowing guests with luggage should not book the terrace as there is only a very narrow staircase. The toilet facility is so narrow and makeshift. Unfortunately, it will pull all romanticism out of any couple if that’s the purpose of stay. If you didn’t drive, it will be very inconvenient as there is no other shops/family mart for food or essentials if needed to go to.

This hotel room was the coolest room I have ever stayed in; the design of the penthouse room was very special and beautiful and felt like you could see all of Yilan. There were TVs in both the living room and the bedroom. In between the living room and the bedroom is a sunroom. There is AC in the two side rooms, and then you could open the doors to condition the middle sunroom. The staff was incredibly kind and offered to help with moving luggage and they talked about the benefits of the hotel. Staying also includes free taxis to and from the train station, so don't forget to let them know when you're coming so they can help coordinate it! They also provide free (delicious) Eastern or Western breakfast and free bikes to use. To get to the top floor, you have to take the elevator to a narrow staircase to get to the space; it was okay, just a little difficult to take the luggage up there. The bedroom and bathroom is also a little bit cramped, but there is enough other living space to be comfortable.

Room quiet and clean, friendly staff, beautiful view outside the window, great public areas. Bikes are cool but a couple of them need some maintenance.

The staff were amazing! Especially Mei Ling. She picked us up from the Yilan bus station, helped us plan our time in Yilan and found us a lovely taxi driver who took us around Yilan and its environs during our stay. The room was perfect too - huge queen beds that were very comfortable! In addition to a delicious breakfast there was also a complimentary afternoon tea set with cakes and fruit that they provided for us. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would both recommend it and also go there again if we are in Yilan. The only slight issue was that location was a bit far from the downtown area of Yilan so we had to rely on taxis, but we knew that when we booked it & the staff found us a lovely taxi driver who helped us through the whole holiday so it was not too inconvenient.

The bathroom is too small. Don’t even allow one person to go through. Also, the blanket was smelly, and air conditioner was functioning in a strange way. I set up the temperature at 24 Celsius, but the air was warm…

Excellent room, we really enjoyed and we are planning to come back. Nice stuff, the guy in front desk can speak English very well and gave us excellent suggestion for restaurants around the place. The room was beautiful, comfortable, clean and very romantic, is a perfect room for winter. They also offer afternoon tea that includes snacks (cake and fruits). 100% recommended!
