good place to reach main street in yufuin and JR station. rocks around public hot spring should be polished to avoid get scratched.

Good location; step across the road into shopping street and towards Kirin Lake. Cosy and homely feel inside. Soft and snuggly futon comforter. Delicious breakfast. Relaxing indoor and outdoor bath separated by gender. Room furniture and wooden floor are worn and aged, but clean. Parking is limited but free.

I went to Yufuin to hike mount Yufu. Yamaboushi is conveniently located closed to Iwao Byouin Mae bus stop, where where you can hop on a bus to go to the Yufu trailhead. The main shopping street is only a short walk away, too, which means you can easily explore all the shops and restaurants. There's also a lovely little outdoor onsen. When I was there, I had it to myself, which was extra special. The staff are very friendly and accommodating! Can't think of anything.
