The property is tucked away in the hill so it feels private and secluded which I loved, while still being less than a 5 minute walk to the main area of town. They have a private in room onsen as well as 2 larger family/private onsens you can use on the property. The food was delicious. They were able to prepare a vegetarian menu for me, which I really appreciated. The staff was very accommodating. Nothing

The area was lovely. The food was incredible, delicious and a work of art. The private onsen was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again

As a family of four, we stayed at a handful of hotels during our time in Japan. This was our favorite by far. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here, and it was nothing short of magical. Since our time was short, we barely left the resort. Our personal onsen was dreamy, and we also had access to the communal pool. The meals were beautiful and gave us the opportunity to try traditional dishes. Our room was very clean, cozy, and spacious. We had a Japanese-style room and found the futons to be very comfortable. There was a TV in the room, but we didn't feel the need to turn it on. The wifi was strong enough for all our needs as well. Although our Japanese is very limited, the staff made an effort to communicate with us. This was very much appreciated! We relied heavily on Google Translate. As parents with teenage boys, it's difficult to find something the entire family enjoys, but this was it! There wasn't anything we didn't like!

The ryokan is conveniently located, just off the popular Yunotsubo Kaido street and Kinrin Lake. We drove from Kokura to Yufuin and the ryokan is up a side road across from the busy streets. The kaiseki meals that were provided on both nights were very delicious as well as the breakfasts on both mornings. This ryokan will also appeal to guests who like private onsens in their own rooms.

Loved the private onsen and the included dinner and breakfast. Water quality is superior to the ones experienced in Oita/Beppu. Beds were super comfy. Staff was very kind and accommodating. Limited English is spoken but I didn’t find it to be difficult to communicate. Slight noise from outside in the evening (it was new years weekend so understandable. The room is very clean and there is no compliant about the hygiene but at night I did find a live roach inside my bag during the morning of check out. (Was a bit shocked but understandable given that all the ryokans in this area of Yufuin are all quite old).

Excellent service, very kind staff, and delicious food. We also enjoyed the private onsen.

The dinner and breakfast were amazing. Everything was fresh, well presented and delicious. Our room was spacious and came equipped with a private onsen and massage chair. We felt so refreshed after our stay here. There’s a Lawson’s down the road and Kirin lake was a short walk away. Highly recommended. Nothing

Nothing I don't like with this place. If have a chance to visit Yufuin , I recommend stay this place.

The meals were delicious and the service was impeccable. The accommodation is very beautiful and tranquil. The room itself came with a massage chair and private onsen. Amenities were sufficient. This is subjective - the water temperature in the hot spring was too high and it took some time to reach the suitable temperature using the cold water tap.

Staff was amazing and absolutely loved the experience and food. Value of food alone was worth it compared to a few other ryokans we stayed at. Definitely dated and older than the ryokans we stayed at and we were in the room right beside the stairs and reception so we couldn’t sleep in given people walking up and down and talking in the hallway.

Food was exceptional, private room onsen was good, and private family onsen was also great and bigger. It was a little hard to find but made the correct guess based on gps. Checkout is 10 AM. 11 AM would be great

It was beyond my expectation. The Kiseki dinner was so delicious. Their steamed rice was so good and perfectly cooked. The room had sepreated part and had plenty of space with message chair, unbelivable . The old woman at the reception can't speak English but she try so hard to explain us in Japanese, very nice. The location was perfect, located near Kinrin lake and Yufuin Floral village. Definitely come back if possible

Both dinner and breakfast were neat and delicious. It was great to be able to enjoy Japanese ryokan culture with a kotatsu. outdoor shower....In February, it's too cold... But It's ok because of indoor shared family bathroom.
