The onsen and the staff were wonderful. The rooms are basic and the mattresses are quite hard.

Absolutely a must stay. The baths are gorgeous, very few people. Relaxing stay in the woods. Best night sleep I've had in a while.

- onsen was absolutely spectacular - traditional vibe - there was no mood lighting - as a solo traveller I didn't have a car so you have to walk quite a bit to get there from the station - no hot water to drink at the onsen changing area. Only cold water.

It was a very nice stay. Welcoming owners, good onsen. The building and onsen has western-style furniture. They even have an article about this house in a magazine. As I understood my single room was the only Japanese style room.

The onsen is awesome and next to the hotel. It is a nice place to get a relaxing stay. Highly recommend for a stay at yufuin. There is a convenience store not too far, you can buy food there since there is not many restaurants around there. Even tho it's not a really big deal, the walls are quite thin so you should be quiet and you might hear the person next door.
