Albergo Lachea

I found that the location was tricky and not very attractive. We had to use the car and we went to Acireale where we enjoyed our walk.

Breakfast was a great start to the day. Many choices. Staff was very nice. Everything was very clean. The pool and patio were a plus! The location and room grew on us over our 5 day stay. The town is full of great little restaurants and it was the perfect spot to base out of for many day trips. No screens on windows and maids left windows open after we were very careful to get rid of all mosquitos. My husband is very allergic to their bites and it affected our trip a lot!!!!! I was also covered in bites, but I don't have as bad of a reaction. We did not want to use the chemical plug in offered in the room to keep them away while we were in the room! The keys in the doors were very loud!!! we like to sleep in on vacation and at 6:50 am the doors start opening and locking w/ that double lock in an echo chamber of an old beautiful building. Not sound proof, so not a great romantic spot!!! It's a very busy location, with town and beach passed a couple of very busy crossings!!!! Be careful crossing main road/highway that goes right by the hotel!!!

Cleanliness and friendliness of the staff Confusing description of the location on booking.com website: there is no beach anywhere near the hotel. There is a rocky access to the sea nearby - but this is not the same as a beach nearby (which made me book this specific hotel). Very few staff members speak passible English. It makes it hard to solve any problem that may arise. The breakfast is a very high quality continental breakfast. Not a traditional breakfast that is offered in many other Italian hotels.

Dinner was a nice variety and good food, but we were a group of 6 and the front desk had a very very difficult time splitting the check for us. After happening twice we decided not to eat there any more.

Very good location if you are travelling by car, close to Catania with easy access right on the road, ample free parking in front of the hotel. The view from the balcony of sea view room was fantastic. Good breakfast, comfortable bed, spacious shower, small fridge, short walk to the Aci Trezza promenade with many restaurants - in short, everything you could need. We wanted to extend our stay for another night, but unfortunately there were no rooms available.

Great little friendly hotel. The breakfast was to die for and the staff is super friendly and helpful. We needed a place to stay after flying into Catania in the evening and it was easy to get to and very welcoming.
