Property was antiquated but well enough

I was in Alexandria on a business trip and roomed at the Bentley Hotel. This is place is a jewel. Just for information purposes, no breakfast is served during weekdays. Open for lunch and dinner. From the time you drive up and enter the door you will realize this place is special. Clean no smoking or any hint of fowl odor. The facility is immaculate and grand built years ago and stands the test of time. The price is very fare for this place. I highly recommend. The staff very good and the bar is charming in the evening. The food is really good as well. You can eat in the-dinning area or order from the bar. I think you will enjoy and I humbly rate this a 5 star!

Very nice hotel and nice staff the cleaning crew did a great job and the front desk employee was very helpful. He recommended several things and didn’t not disappoint

Skip this property. Impossible to get luggage to your room, no valet. Only parking available is street parking and a lot that is unsecured. I parked in the hospital garage 3 blocks away to keep my car safe. Checkin attendant was unkept did not welcome me. There is a full height plexiglass barrier between you and the hotel attendant. Could absolutely not hear a thing he was saying. Room was small, bed decent. The only bright spot for this property is the mirror bar, good cocktails and bartenders were fun and friendly. Will not be back.

Remarkable property. I enjoyed my stay and slept comfortably. If I could mention one concern, spilled water on the bathroom tile makes for a very slippery floor.

It was beautiful, but parking wasn’t the best.

If you are going to Alexandria, stay at this place, excellent

Well kept

Ballroom was beautiful Couldn’t find the front desk to check in. Not signs no directions. When we arrived no one was at front desk. Elevator didn’t work so we had to climb up and down 3 flights of stairs.

The history… and the Sunday brunch breakfast was outstanding. The food was delicious. The facilities were in great need of repair. I stayed there to attend a wedding on site. I booked two rooms. My elderly parents in their 90s were in one of the rooms. Unfortunately, there was only one working elevator for the entire building, and it only worked periodically. My parents, both in their 90s, were forced to carry their luggage up three flights of stairs and back down again because the elevator was not working and no one would help them. It is not ADA friendly at all. There is not even a bathroom on the main floor where the lobby is. You have to go downstairs to the basement or upstairs to the second floor to use a restroom. At the night of the wedding reception, which was on the first floor, my parents were forced to walk downstairs or upstairs to use a restroom. Ridiculous. I really wanted to like this hotel, and the history is fascinating. However, the facilities are in dire need of repair. With a little bit of refurbishment and care, this hotel could really make a grand statement. In its current state, however, it definitely underwhelms.

Disappointing
-
bar and restaurant were pretty good old and dirty

The rooms are basic, but the air worked amazingly well. The beds were comfortable. The hotel hallways were hot (we understand not wanting to cool them so much in the hot, humid weather (the bill would be outrageous!) and dimly lit. We liked all of the historical touches and the restaurant was great. The elevators stopped working while we were there. One of the employees saw us struggling with our luggage when we were leaving and let us use the service elevator!

I stayed at this hotel 36 years ago for my honeymoon. I stayed again recently. Parking is on the street. You have to get your own luggage cart which is on the basement floor then bring it out to your car where you’re parked. Then ride up to your room. Check in is on the first floor. Check in is also behind plexiglass. It’s warm throughout the hotel. There is also a distinctive wet moldy smell throughout the hotel, to include the upstairs hallways. My hotel was a standard king. No smell thank goodness and the AC worked really well in the room. The website said there was a microwave, but the front desk said they are only in suites. There was an extra small mini fridge. Only a hand full of tv channels available. There is a restaurant and a separate bar on the basement floor. Unfortunately, the smell is a dank, moldy, wet smell. You can order food at the bar. There was also a gnat problem, so I’m guessing it may be from the humidity in the basement area. It is a beautiful hotel. It’s a venue for wedding, receptions etc. It just hasn’t been kept up very well.

This place is awesome and fun

Location, history of the hotel & area. Very ornate and classical building. Enjoyed the downtown area. Hotel within easy walking distance of most amenities, even on a hot summer day. Restaurant was excellent. Good value and wonderful food. Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. Can't really recall anything I didn't like. Parking was adequate. Hotel was clean and updated for an older building. Just the right mix of classic beauty with modern amenities.
