Harold, the host, was kind and provided breakfast for us every morning. It was close to the bus station that takes you to noorderpark metro station and in 15 min you are in Amsterdam Central. Loved the location, loved the vibe of the northern part of the city and the house was comfortable and warm The stairs of the house are so narrow so it might be uncomfortable to go upstairs with your luggage

This was by far the worst place I have ever been to. The room was extremely unsanitary and filled with the strong smell of tobacco and cigarettes — it was impossible to stay there even for a few minutes. We couldn’t spend more than 15 minutes inside and had to leave immediately to search for another hotel, standing outside on the street with our luggage. Our two-night booking and payment were completely wasted because the conditions were unbearable. I would not recommend this place to anyone — it was an awful experience.

I felt very safe in the place, every morning we were getting fresh breakfast, jam, honey etc. Very easy instructions of using any tools for breakfast. It was very clean and calm! I didn’t felt there unwanted

Passable

Nice double bed. Private bathroom. Quiet area. No problems checking in or out. Location not as advertised- 30 minutes walk from ferry connecting you to Amsterdam. Basically a room in someone's house. Small bathroom but adequate. Stairs are very steep. You had to make your own breakfast which consisted of bread and very little meats and cheese, roughly 2-3 each.

Harry is a nice guy but he didn’t offer parking information until I asked about it. He then told me there was a white box at each end of the street which was not true. There were no signs up in the street saying you had to pay for parking and he also did not mention this in our correspondence. Apparently it’s 8.50 Euros. I just received a fine for approximately 78 Euros. The place has two rooms upstairs but you can only use the kitchen area one at a time. The egg measuring cup for the machine was not there so the lady in room 1 had spilled water everywhere and didn’t clean it up. The house smells like a bachelor pad. There’s no tv and if you want any privacy you need to close all the curtains.

Very little. But the owner was nice. Narrow stairs and breakfast left a lot to be desired.

I like this place and its surroundings, it seems a bit far away from city center but it's only one metro station and 5-10 minute walk, with a large park just around the cornet. Room is clean and nice. Breakfast is good it saves money. Somebody from other guests were ringing in the middle of the night. Hope this does not occur often.

Bad

The rate is less compared to rest of the hotels in Amsterdam. A experience of staying in a Traditional house. Rooms and bathroom were small. The house smelled with cigarettes at all times. Breakfast place very small and not up to mark.

Nice neighborhood The place smelled kinda bad, not so much the room, but the rest of the house, shared area and entrance. I guess they don’t open the doors and windows at all so the place inside just smells like wet dogs, unfortunately. Also, they came inside the room everyday and packed our bags, not only tidying up the bed and towels, but literally putting our stuff back in the bags and closing it, that was really weird and invasive, I asked them not to do it again, they didn’t do it the day I messaged but the next day they did it again. The WiFi didn’t work well in the room, had to use my own data cause it was so slow and glitchy

Arrived and the host was friendly, room was clean and the bed was very soft. The stairs are winding and narrow, but that's Amsterdam for you. Walk to the centre is a bit of a trot, but I don't mind walking. I do not possess they knack to open the front door, but the owner was very helpful each time. You don't get the baguettes shown in the photo, but you do get petit pains, cheese, cold cuts, juice and eggs. Too be honest (especially considering its Amsterdam), this is really good value for money, especially if you are mostly out of the house at cheese factories and canal tours like me, and just want a comfortable bed. The owner appreciates honest and genuinely just wants to help out! Banging place. Not much really, bit of uneven flooring upstairs and a few cobwebs. The wifi does occassionally cut out.
