Super 8 by Wyndham Appleton

Good overall. Friendly staff, clean room. I liked that the refrigerator in room had separate fridge and freezer. The only negative comment I have is that any time a toilet flushed in a nearby room, I could hear the water running through the pipes somewhat loudly. But I got used to the sound and it didn't bother me much.

The staff were very helpful.

The room left a little bit to be desired as far as cleanliness. There were some cob webs in the corners up and down the walls and a few stray hairs in the bathroom. My biggest complaint was the joke of a breakfast they provide. Yes they did have a waffle maker (one) but there were very few other options. Their idea of orange juice was SunnyD. Might as well just provide orange soda. No fresh fruit. Coffee was ok. One choice of cereal. After the first morning I just went elsewhere.

I needed somewhere cheap to stay while on a business trip and had my infant along. I read the reviews before booking, so I had an idea of what to expect. I wasn't surprised. The hotel is older and could use an update. It worked for my stay. I decided to stay here based on cheap price, location and lots of parking for a trailer and car. The rooms weren't noise proof, my dresser and nightstand were extremely old. The nightstand drawer wouldn't stay closed. My window was cracked and clear tPe was on it. They have no pack n plays or cribs for infants, so I had to purchase on in town. The staff are quiet and are very persistent on getting trash and dirty towels from your room. I told them I was fine, but they insisted on getting them anyway. I didn't try breakfast, but coffee was gone by 10am when I went to get some. Breakfast ends at 9am. There is some sketchy people hanging around the parking lot at night. I would stay again, but don't expect anything fancy. This is very basic and run down.

Not work

I love this motel the beds are so comfortable and the rooms are very nice. The breakfast is decent and I would recommend this motel to everyone!!!!

No elevator. Breakfast was marginal at best - often empty. Key did not work very well on side entrance. Room was spacious and clean. Nice to have microwave & frig.

We booked an upgraded king room and when we arrived it was one queen. Went to front desk and the guy showed us a queen room so then we showed him ours. He insisted on arguing that it was a king even though the two beds were the same. Seemed crabby and didn't want to deal with us. Didnt want to make him any more mad so just bit the bullet. Then the room we were in had roaches and other bugs. We kept towels under the door because of that. And our bath tub looked liked it was already used. Way over priced for what we dealt with. I did house keeping inspections and was the manager for almost ten years in the wisconsin dells but sure what do I know about sizes of beds.

This hotel was the worst place I have stayed. Walking in, was an oder. Walking towards are room wasn’t much better a distinct smell of mildew in the hallways. We walked in our room and it was smelly like stale cigarettes, the bedside table was not wiped clean. The floor was gross, the sheets were rough. Very cheap feeling. It had been a long day and it was late when we got there so we toughed the night out. Thank god I had wipes to wipe stuff down. When we notified the clerk the following morning, we were checking out early, after I told her the room was smelly and dirty, she said I can get you another room. I declined, the way the first room was taken care of, I can imagine the rest are the same.

The hotel was clean enough but it was a bit rundown and smelled mildewy and like old smoke. For the price it was decent enough.

The rooms are worn, which is forgivable. However, my sheets were yellowed with sweat stains, which was unpleasant and would earn a lower rating anywhere else but a Super 8. At least they don't pretend to be a 5 star hotel.

Needs some updates

We are part of the Tornado disaster in Appleton Wisconsin, Great, Clean Hotel, price is on point and breakfast Nice...

The gym was completely unusable and appeared to have only two machines from the 1990s inside a small room. Breakfast (at the time we arrived approx 7am) contained only cereal and packets of oatmeal. No coffee was available and a mini fridge which I assumed possibly had yogurt or water at one point was completely empty.

The room was OK the bed it smelled like somebody peed in it and the toilet was clogged the whole time other than that it was fine Your staff needs to do a better job at cleaning the rooms

Very noisy, parties held in parking lot, flies or bugs of some sort in room.

No tv channels. I had front desk look at it and she was gonna get it fixed while I was gone the next day. After being gone next day, I came back and still no channels. Very inconvenient for me. I’d like a refund please.

Free parking, but the rooms were not very clean and smelled very humid, the hallways smelled bad.
