The hotel was located on the West Bank but it was easy and cheap to get a public crossing to the East Bank. The ferry is only a 10 minute walk from the hote. The hotel is extremely quiet. The staff, namely Bassam, was exceptional and his English was perfect. I got everything I needed. The rooftop terrace is covered with sand and bohemian and cool. Bassam was always available with any questions or concerns on WhatsApp. My room was huge and comfortable. There is tremendous competition for rooms in Aswan as it is a tourist city but this hotel recognizes that tourists want exceptional value. I got exceptional value and more at Nubian Kingdom. There was also a coffee ceremony conducted while I was there which was complimentary and interesting. The area is sleepy which might be an issue for some people and is not nearly as developed as the Nile's Eastern city side. Restaurants and shops are not as numerous. There is a ferry that is run regularly and the daily crossings back and forth that actually added excitement and fun to my stay.

Amazing location and staff - what an incredible experience to see Aswan and Nubia. I’ve travelled three times now to Aswan and this was by far the best stay. Hands down the best host and welcoming environment that we’ve come across during our travels. A must if you visit the area! N/a - it was excellent!

Breakfast every morning, sufficient hot water, helpful staff, Nubian coffee and music nights, definitely one of the places I’m going to miss the most in Egypt! Nothing

Beautiful, welcoming, attracts interesting guests. Bassem is very inviting and helpful. Really nice to live in the Nubian village across the Nile from Aswan proper. Ferry is very easy to access and negotiate. One of our favorite places we've ever stayed. We liked everything.

All was great! This is our 9th trip here and we love it so much! Basaam is awesome and it’s the most authentic stay in all of Aswan!

The family that runs the house is super hospitable and welcoming. The place is clean, in a quiet location and has a beautiful view of the Nile and Nubian tombs. Beds were comfortable and showers were hot. The rooftop was amazing for relaxing. The nightly family dinner is delicious. Nothing comes to mind. It was amazing.

If you are a ethnomusicologist you must stay here. If you want to experience Nubian life and music you also must stay here. Every evening after dinner the instruments come out and you are invited join in. You can listen to the traditional rhythms and melodies of the Nubian people. If you are a musician yourself you will be invited to share a song. There are guitars and frame drums to play and sometimes a keyboard. You never know who will show up on a particular evening. Sometimes guest musicians come from farther away and sometimes it is just the family. This is not a performance. It is a traditional Nubian music jam. So if you wish a laid back emersion into Nubian culture, come here. The family is beyond welcoming. You will be greeted with loving hearts and they will help you with anything you need. The location is across the Nile from the city of Aswan so you must take a ferry to get here or drive the long way around. Ferry is only 10EGP or about 20 cents. If you want to eat out, there is not much around here in the way of restaurants. So you probably should take the ferry across to the city. But the home cooked dinners here are very good.

I had a wonderful stay, it was incredibly comfortable and truly felt like I was at home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a special touch of cozy charm throughout. One of the highlights was the fantastic music jams they hosted—such a great experience! The live sessions were full of energy, and the music itself was excellent. It really brought everyone together and added a unique, lively vibe to my stay. The hosts were also extremely helpful, going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. Whether it was offering local tips or just being friendly and accommodating, they made my time there even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a homey, and memorable getaway

It was an amazing experience staying in this Nubian guesthouse. Bassam the host is really welcoming, he invited us to Nubian coffee and we had great conversations learning about his culture. Breakfast that's included is great, and the access to fresh orange juice and water was another bonus. They also offer tours so you don't need to plan too much for your vacation. The location is also very good, being close to the public ferry to cross over to Aswan. Nothing

Amazing time at Nubian Kingdom! I booked a trip to Aswan very last minute to get away from the craziness of Cairo and I dont regret it! The house provided peace and calmness from the roof top with views, to the surrounding village and the comfort of the rooms. The host and his family are very loving and welcoming! They assure that you are comfortable, keep everything clean and help you set up all your tours. Dinner time , the food was flavorful and a diverse set of dishes. Eating at the House made things a lot easier as well and didnt have to worry about going into the city. Lastly, the live music at night with Nubians was my favorite part. As an Egyptian, it was my first time I could fully immerse myself in their culture! The island is one big family and neighbors surrounding the area are also very sweet and its safe! I cant wait to stay in the Nubian Kingdom Aragheed House in the nearby future. Nothing

A quick/frequent/cheap ferry ride across the Nile where you get to escape the craziness of Aswan for a relaxed and authentic Nubian experience. Amazing food, delicious coffee AND nightly Jam seshs with traditional instruments. I can’t express how much we loved our time here. Bassam is kind and so helpful, until next time!

Our family had really good time there. It’s a lovely and peaceful village. We enjoyed making Nubian coffee and listening to music on the rooftop while we stayed. The sands on the rooftop is a plus. My toddler was playing and walking with barefoot on the sands. What an unforgettable experience for our family trip.Btw, they offer very tasty dinner and breakfast! Nothing

  • Engine customer Mar 2024

Breakfast was plenty and great. There was no electricity in the village for one day.

The perfect spot after experiencing Cairo's madness. The place was so beautiful and welcoming, the hospitality was on point. This is by far the best place I've stayed in Egypt. Thank you so much for opening the doors of your home to us travelers ? . I highly recommend it. Everything was perfect!

Bassam's terrace is my favorite place to chill out in entire Egypt! I felt immediately at home when I first arrived, and despite the great museums and attractions nearby, I spent most of my free time on the terrace enjoying the sun, Nubian music, and just chatting to Bassam. The rooms are understandably basic but comfortable to sleep in, and it's only a short walk from the public ferry. Remember to bring your own toiletries! Forgot to bring my own toiletries :-(
