Nice staff and big sized, comfortable room. close to the station 2 hot springs A nice terrace Difficult to communicate with the staff as they only speak Japanese You have to walk a steep path to reach the hotel which can be tough for some people

the breakfast was terrible (cold food in a plastic bag), the shared bath was was tiny (more than two people couldn't fit in changing room), and there were nail clippings in our room

A very nice place to stay , just close to the railway station. Very practical when you come for a few days The hotel is great , the bedrooms are spacious Nice roof top and a nice sea view because the hotel is a little uphill . At the reception they give you nice kimonos You can enjoy the hot springs either the public or the private one The fact that the hotel does not have lift , but it is manageable because the stairs are wild . We stayed on the third floor but It was ok because we did not have heavy luggage with us . No coffee left at 9 am in the machine .

Loved the rooftop onsen. Loved the view. The beds were comfortable and the shower was nice, albeit small. This is UPHILL so beware of that AND, the hotel does not have an elevator. We were on the top floor which had a lovely view but we had to carry our suitcases up five flights of stairs so that was a bit challenging. If you are traveling lightly, it's nice. Also, note that it's not in the main part of town but it is near the station. Most recommended restaurants were a good 20-25 min walk away (also, many of them turned us away because they didn't want foreigners even though I speak Japanese). We did not experience this in any other city in Japan (and I lived there for 2+ years).

No parking lot, we ended up spending lots of money for the parking lot.

    1. Although the hotel says it's 7mins walk from the station, it's far more than that time if you are bringing your luggage from the station and climb up to the hotel. 15mins minumum and very steep route. 2. The road from hotel to Atami station on a shared lane with cars and gets VERY DARK and scary at night (it's completely dark in Atami winter after 4:30pm). There is none public transportation and taxi are hard to call, so only way to get to train station or any stores is by foot through that dark little lane. 3. If you are carrying luggage, ANY luggage, avoid this hotel. The hotel is 1 floor higher than the main road, rooms are from 2nd floor and up. You will have to carry your suitcase with MINIMUM 3 FLOORS UP. The staff won't help you by even a little bit. "No service provided" is what they typed in google translate when I ask them to lend me a hand. 4. In the photo on Booking.com you see there is outdoor onsen and a balcony. None of that matches expectation. The porch swing is taken down, the outdoor balcony is full of smokers of all time so you can imagine the horrible smells lingering. The outdoor onsen was closed for the two days during my stay so I never got to use it. and staff didn't even bother to inform during checkin (they would still charge you onsen TAX btw) 5. The cleanness is very troubling. The room carpet is so dirty and with cigarette burns. The indoor onsen has dead bugs floating on the water. I even once saw a cockroach in the corridor ? please for the sake of your trip, try and find a better option than this horrible hotel.

Was a very clean hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast was only one option and a proper breakfast room with options or buffet would be a great improvement. Also just having stairs and no lift was challenging with small children.

It is clean and I love the hot spring and the swing (rooftop) N/A

  • Engine customer Mar 2023

Staff were excellent, highly responsive through the booking.com app, allowing us to order the shuttlebus from the station with ease. The private onsen was also wonderful, for about 3000 yen we could book a private family bath for 45 minutes. The public pools were a little smaller, but the rooftop had a really wonderful view The only complaints I had about my stay was the weather! And I don't think the staff could have done much about that.

The peaceful area and great view. The staff is very nice too. For young people is fine but if you have problems with doing stairs - please note there is no elevator.

  • Engine customer Jan 2023

location and reception staff room too small and noisy with trains running midnight and smelly toilet

  • Engine customer Dec 2022

The view is good. The hotel has no elevator, I have walked 6 floors with my luggage to my room. The room is small.

    Very good

hot spring with terrace They don’t have an English instruction how to use the vending machine at the free lounge. They need to clearly put a sign in English for their foreign guest .

very clean and well maintained rooms, easy check in. A few minutes from Atami station. nice night view of the city. The onsens were smaller than usual but very very clean. The doors on the rooms are not auto locking.

Nothing good to say. Possibly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had in Japan. WARNING TO ALL FOREIGN TRAVELERS Problem #1: NO ELEVATOR I normally don’t write reviews like this, but my experience at this hotel was so bad that I had to let people know. This hotel is a 7-story building, and has NO elevator. This is not mentioned on sites like Booking.com or any other websites this hotel uses to take reservations. Just to clarify, it’s not that there is an elevator and when I stayed it was out of service. There is no elevator in the building at all. If you are a non-Japanese foreigner, they WILL put you on the 7th floor. Good luck carrying up any luggage you have up there with no elevator. I have a health condition that prevents me from being able to climb to the 7th floor with heavy luggage, but this didn’t matter. They also lied and said that the information for not having an elevator was on Booking.com and other sites. I have lived in Japan for 11 years, read, speak and write Japanese, this information was nowhere to be found. Problem #2: UNORGANIZED AND/OR RACIST TOWARDS NON-JAPANESE and EXTRA FEES After I finally got settled in, I called the front desk (which by the way, there is NO PHONE in the rooms to call the front desk, you have to know the Japanese phone number, speak Japanese and call from your Japanese cell phone - which they absolutely HATED). I asked them if they could put me in room on the first floor the following day. They said no problem and I went to sleep. When I woke up and trekked down 7-floors to check on the room change, they literally said “We have prioritized other customers over you. Your only option is to check out. Oh, and you owe us a 4,400 yen fee for checking out late”. I was never notified about the fee as well. As long as I were to check out by 12, they said they could switch the room. But the next day they changed their minds. Problem #3: Bugs/Insects There were quite a few flies in the room. Probably an infestation in the entire complex.

The open air bath No elevator

  • Engine customer Dec 2021

Its modern style and cleanliness It was small but had everything; a fabulous view deck with wooden outdoor bath to watch the sunrise. A lounge with a second bath. And high quality designed interior, yukata, with free DHC skin products. No elevator meant no waiting, just pop up or down to either baths quick. Quiet, staff were rarely seen, but helpful. Right behind the station, on a steep hill but a charmer. nothing negative. did not use the tv. but used the iPad. very useful. did not eat so cannot comment
