The Phaedra hotel is a gem. It's not fancy, but it's clean and comfortable, with helpful and friendly staff...and the location!! The view!! It's great value and is even more beautiful in person. There's nothing like waking up to a view of the Acropolis. Easy walking distance to it with plenty of shops and restaurants (though the neighborhood is of course quite touristy). It was perfect for our short time in Athens. Thank you!

The view from our room was excellent! There was also rooftop access where you could sit and enjoy the view. The location was walkable to the train, restaurants, and attractions. The hotel had an elevator which was nice for taking luggage to the room. The shower was a little small but we learned that most showers in Greece were so this was not a big factor.

the location and the staff the water randomly got incredibly hot in the shower without changing the temperature ourselves.

The location was amazing, the room very clean, and good value for the money. The room was small, but to be expected in an old building in the heart of historic Athens.

The location was right in the middle of all the shopping, sites, and dining in the Acropolis area of Athens. 15 minute to the entrance of the Acropolis and 15 minute walk to the Syntagma train station and changing of the guard. Shopping and restaurants were right out the door of the hotel. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. Only thing that surprised us was the key needed to stay at the hotel, so we turned it in everytime we left. It is attached to a wooden object that looks like a chess piece. This was never a problem for us but if you are travelling with valuables be aware. The elevator is small but with enough space for two of us with our luggage. We used the stairs otherwise to our room on the 3rd floor which was easy and very clean. The room with an interior bathroom (en suite) was also very clean and had a small balcony with a beautiful view of the the back of the Acropolis and area. We loved sitting out there for breakfast and in the evenings! The AC was easy to use with a remote control and worked great. There is a small fridge, one of those cube fridges that is great for cans, small bottles, and small items to keep cool, No freeze, just the little freezer shelf in the upper right. Large water bottles had to lay on their side. The cleaning staff were wonderful. We are pretty tidy, but they made everything look very tidy and it was a very pleasant surprise to return to! The only issue we had was the shower wand holder was loose, but they promptly corrected it the next morning. One other bonus is there is access to the roof with a beautiful view of the area. There are canopies, tables and chairs. Being up there in the evenings was great!! If you are expecting a five star room at a major US hotel chain, you might be disappointed. If you want a clean room with wonderful staff and the ambiance of Athens, you will love this hotel just like we did! I suppose a safe in the room, a bigger fridge/freezer, and a key(s) that you could take with you would all be nice. We were a little apprehensive about leaving the key, especially at first, but we did not have valuables worth much to anyone and it all felt very safe to us. Everything as it is creates a wonderful ambiance that is fitting for the area.

Espectacular location! Good facilities. Bathrooms are located outside the room but clean and spacious.

The room was small but very clean. The location was great. Close to lots of shops, restaurants and things to do. I didn’t like the bathroom across the hall and not in our room. The man that worked the evening shift and the one that worked the morning shift were very rude. Would not recommend this place because of how they treated us. Also, no ice machine or microwave.

The location is what gives this hotel a 10 No atmosphere no warmth breakfast is below average
-
The view. Facilities were a little old and some upgrades could be done.
-
View from the bedroom window was spectacular. Bed was super comfy. Perfect location. Everything was clean. They even have a lift. The shampoo provided could be nicer quality please.
-
The view from our balcony of the Acropolis was unbelievably breathtaking.
-
Some very nice and helpful staff, Room didn't quite look as advertised, shower didn't work well.
-
Perfect size room, A/C, elevator, 24 hour lobby attendant, clean newer bathroom, medium size hotel, location and roof top terrace. Nothing.
-
Not a thing
-
There was no drinking water available in the room. No drinking glass, and that little touch would have been good for a weary traveler.
-
For 1 day delivered what we were expecting, but to stay longer is not comfortable - shared bathroom or separate from room, design of build and decorations of room simple

Pro - location/ walkable to everything, cleanliness, and rooftop terrace. Con - this hotel feels like a hostel, the rooms are extremely sparse and small, some have a private bathroom and others a bathroom across the hall. A lot of outside noise - taxis waiting, snack kiosk, jewelry store, and construction - until midnight and starting up at 6am. We didn't choose breakfast because it didn't look appealing - you have to request it the night before.

I loved the location near the Acropolis and numerous restaurants and shops. The staff allowed us to store our luggage prior to our check-in time and were extremely helpful. Some would have preferred to have the water closet located in the room, but actually, the experience of having it located across the hall only added to the the uniqueness of our European adventure.
