What ever they use to clean the floor in the hotel rooms leaves a thick layer of oil/slime all over the floors. The smell is not good either.
-
Overpowering (migraine/asthma inducing) artificial fragrance in the room and someone else’s hair on the towels. I went to the breakfast area well before it was open to take a peek at the options from a distance, not touching anything and was rudely told by the man from the front desk that breakfast doesn’t start until 7. That was obvious since the lights were off. The lady setting up breakfast was friendly.

The staff was absolutely amazing at this hotel. The front desk clerk Tiara is so outgoing and friendly and engaging. She made our stay worth it. Not to mention the incredibly hard-working lady that puts the continental breakfast together every morning, who is also incredibly friendly and a sweetheart. The rooms are extremely clean and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody if we ever find ourselves in Augusta again we would definitely go back.

Check in was horrible. Took over an hour to get our room. We booked on hotel.com. When we arrived, there were no rooms with 2 beds as we had booked. The staff was unable to switch us to a king room as we had booked online. No one seemed to be able to give us a solution. We spent an hour on the phone with hotels.com and with the check in desk at the hotel before it was finally switched over. Mind you, the process points were the same. Once we got to the room, it smelled of marijuana. Check out was also an ordeal. The hotel said we had not checked in the previous day and it took 15 minutes to get out the next morning. Not planning to stay at a Marriot again due to the experience.

Proximity to location and morning breakfast. No pool and the construction. No trash removal in room.

Location to family and clean room. Paid for a handicap room over a month ago and asked for 1st floor due to my husbands disabilities. Was told they didn’t have the room I requested then she placed us on the 2nd floor way down the hall. Made it even more difficult for my husband. Upon check out the gentleman asked me about our stay. I told him what had happened and he went to his computer and said “oh your listing was from a third party and we don’t honor those requests. So we just put you in what ever room we wanted to. If you want your requests honored you need to call and book your reservation directly with us and not a third party like Booking.com. Also you had to push a buzzer at the front door to be let in. I asked is this a bad area and she said yes and we need it for security.

My experience was great, nice, clean even though they’re renovating. Staff was very friendly especially the breakfast lady.

I liked the fact that they had a room for us at the last minute. I wasn't going to stay here since I had a previous reservation and didn't make it but my son wanted to stay here, so here we came. The lady who worked breakfast, I apologize can't remember her name but she was very nice and treated us like family. We always enjoy her when we stay, when she's working. They were remodeling. It was things everywhere, but the quality of the rooms for Fairfield was great. They could have had more options for breakfast.

The stay was great.

Hotels should be forced to add a banner that says ‘under renovation’. I know most hotels would get 0 bookings, but instead the hotels and Expedia deceive guests about the nature of their stays which is almost always based on reviews that happened when there were no renovations going on. You can include in the banner renovation hours and which floors are not affected. And explain you’re charging 75% of normal and comparable rates. What you should never do is lie. I stay in Augusta 4-5 times a year, and have stayed in this hotel many times but I won’t go back now. Very disappointing. Expedia should penalize bad actors like this.
