The location on the lagoon is lovely. Lots of free parking. The place is a bit tired looking and could use some TLC. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. Our room had a kitchen with a fridge and microwave which proved a god send after spending the day roaming around. We'd bring food back to the room rather than going out again looking for a restaurant. There is a great restaurant approximately 800 meters on the highway towards Bacalar called El Taco Loco which closes at 6 pm. They do take out! We were able to book a lagoon tour and picked up/dropped off at the dock so no driving into town. The guide, Roberto, who spoke English, gave an excellent talk about the history, flora, fauna of the lagoon. The tour was one of our highlights on our trip. The access road from the highway is very rough and bumpy so drive slowly. It's difficult to see the sign at night. If a hair dryer is important, bring your own. None are provided. Rather than using the chairs for luggage a couple of benches for luggage would be a nice addition.

The location is great, wonderful view and staff is super nice. The room is pretty comfortable. The beach club needs maintenance, the sun shade needs to be mended, and new cushions for beach chairs. The hotel needs pest control, and a better way to supply healthy food to guests, as it is far from restaurants.

Unpaved entrance road was a little challenging with a sedan

For the price was really good clean and staff really friendly

The room provided us a place to cool off and store our groceries. The shower was excellent. The dock into the lagoon was sweet but apparently this end of the lagoon is very populated, which make affect drainage into nature. Our road was not impassable, but with rain….it presented a small challenge.

Great shower with hot water, balcony with hammock with views (through trees) of the lake, A/C, just a really great room with a big, comfortable bed. The shaded dock with lounge chairs was perfect and we basically had the place to ourselves. The water was a little choppy, so we used the lifejackets that come with the kayaks to make it easier. Very quiet atmosphere, perfect for getting away. There is a dog who pretends to limp sometimes for attention. The cats are cute too. None of the animals get in your way. Also the kitchen for guest use and the tea/coffee in the morning was a bonus, as is the external bathroom that we were able to use to change after we checked out and went for a swim. I only spoke Spanish with the staff. The grounds are beautiful. One of the kayak paddles could use a little repair, but this was a very little thing in a fantastic stay.

Nice accommodation and direct access to the lagoon with free canoë, free coffee in the morning Some work to be done in the room, bathroom door did not close, Window without a proper curtain,

Yhere is sewage smell from the shower at night. They need to change/adjust the water trap in the drain.

The room was lovely and close to the water Location to town

Great area for swimming and relaxing on the dock. Great, friendly staff. Very happy with my stay there and will stay again. The have 2 kayaks to use. My girlfriend loved the friendly cats too The only thing i didn't like was that we couldn't stay longer.

The staff was nice and friendly. The beds are very uncomfortable, the mattresses are old and need to be replaced to new ones, also they were covered in plastic and this makes noise every time you move. We got the room in front of reception desk and we could hear all the noise from outside such as people talking in the middle of the night, cars parking due to the windows aren't good sound isolated. The price/service comparison is unfair.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for several days, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The location is quiet and peaceful — it often felt like I had the entire hotel to myself, aside from a couple of brief encounters with other guests. The tranquility was a major highlight for me. One of the standout features of the hotel is its direct access to the beach. You can walk right downstairs from the hotel to reach the shore, which is such a nice perk. I also noticed they have kayaks available, though I didn’t get a chance to use them. It’s a great option for guests looking for some beachfront adventure. I was fortunate to receive an upgrade to a large room with a terrace, and it was absolutely fantastic. The extra space and the terrace added so much to the experience. It’s those little touches that make a stay feel special. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and attentive. Both the lady and the gentleman working there went out of their way to assist me. A special shoutout to the gentleman who helped me secure a taxi at 4:00 AM. Thanks to his help, I made it to the bus station on time — though the bus ended up being late (classic bus experience, right?). One area where I think the hotel could improve is the availability of snacks and drinks for purchase. They do provide water and coffee, which is appreciated, but there were times when I really wanted to buy some snacks or drinks and found nothing available. It feels like a missed opportunity for the hotel, as selling simple items like chips, nuts, energy bars, sodas, or seltzers would be easy to stock and maintain. This would be such a convenient addition for guests who want a quick bite or drink without having to leave the hotel.

the location is amazing with direct access to the lagoon and 5 minutes away by car from Bacalar center, we loved our stay here, people were super nice!

The access to the fabulous lake. Two free kayaks. The lady at the reception was friendly (only Spanish speaking). Everything was worn down and not maintained. Not even clean. Incuding the sunbeds (with holes), the kayaks (dirty), the sheets (with stains and holes). The platform to enjoy the lake is only 2 by 3 meters - we were lucky that we were the only four people there. No food facilities on walking distance, so you need a car/taxi. Definitely not worth the price. (At first it did not seem possible to pay by creditcard. In the end we could pay by creditcard).
