so beautiful! the common area being completely outside was amazing

Nice big area to eat or to be social. Good warm shower It's a bit out dated. Ones you get use to it. It's pretty okay. We were lucky with the 6 bed room, the people there were quiet.

The staff are very friendly and efficient. The place is very near to the centre. The jungle atmosphere and gardens are so refreshing The bed on the tent was a very fluffy mattress that even being a 15 cm wide mattress i was touching the floor with my bones... The tent doesn't have light inside and would be helpful to have at least a torch. On the night it rained and all my clothes got wet cause water entered from one side of the tent.

Good hostel, friendly helpful staff and free ride to the beach club was a bonus Breakfast is nice to have included but a bit poor

Bathrooms not in a good shape

Dana was super sweet, kind, and helpful. She helped me arrange a tour on the lagoon, she helped me find good places to eat, and she let me keep my stuff in the room past check-out hours. Muchas gracias Dana! This hostel also has another property right on the banks of the lagoon, it's a 10 minute drive north from Bacalar town, there is a little restaurant and bar and you can actually stay there. I spent the whole afternoon there swimming, sunbathing and drinking cervezas! :-) It was great

Location and staff. Very clean the rooms and comfortable. The area is in a jungle and it was super cozy. Maybe a little cleaner on the breakfast or more organised

Truly Putrid

Quiet and clean 5 minutes to everything. Around the corner for bike rental from Marco at Italia. Fort, sailing, food and entertainment at your door. Comfy bed and aircon Had a bit of plumbing issue but team responded quickly

Office hosts were really helpful with questions.good location and cheap. Spacious private rooms There is a school next door and music plays very loudly from about 8am. Breakfast very average- jam, toast and a cup of fruit is all.

Short walk from ado bus stop. The hostel has a sister hostel on the lake which they have a free shuttle for each day - this was a highlight. Amazing to spend the day on lake bacalar in a secluded spot. The hostel is pretty in nature and quirky and it was nice to have the free breakfast. Quiet otherwise.

Good value for money and looks like a little jungle in the city. There was a difference between staff. They don’t speak English. The one who checked us in did his best to explain himself. But the one who checked us out was bored and not cooperating at all.

Superb

Nothing, except for the location ABSOKUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE i was supposed to be arriving during the night. Like 2am. I asked the Hostel if thats okay. Supposedly yes. They told me its okay. Because there is security guard. Who will take me in, right? So no problem at all, right? WRONG The security guard was there, I have to give them that. But he was drunk. Like really drunk. He wasnt even able to read my name for the reservation. Okay, that would not be a problem. But then he took me to the room. But he wasnt able to open the rooms. He didnt know where the keys were?? He wasnt able to figure out how to get into any of the rooms. SO HE SENT ME OFF I HAD TO FIND ANOTHER ACCOMODATION AT 3 AM. I was walking during the night from one accomodation to another trying to find one that would take me. And it cost me three times more. And the best/worst thing? They apologized a littleat 4PM the next day after many messages. And They told me They would take action with the security. Through WhatsApp. But then, the day after They replied to my message here on booking (about the time on arrival, which we disscussed on WhatsApp), that I can totally come during the night, because there is an amazing security guard Who will let me in. Two days after he didnt let me in. Am I the only one Who thinks that this is like a disgusting mockery? If they were atleast able to apologize. Or compensate for What happened. Or do something with the guard. But no. They are just straight up lying. Im not saying dont go there, but I would never support them But Bacalar is an amazing place everybody should visit. Just do yourself a favor a sleep in different place ♥️

Exceptional

The room temperature was great. It wasn't hot! There are no hooks to hang your towel. The wifi only reaches 1 of the 2 dorm rooms. Even when you're connected it's inconsistent.
