We had a wonderful stay in Ballater. The hotel was quaint, comfortable, exceptionally clean, and wonderfully quiet — exactly what we were looking for. Having the bar and restaurant conveniently on site made everything so easy, and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely outstanding. The owners and staff were incredibly warm, personable, and welcoming throughout our stay. The food and drinks were a definite 10/10. With its convenient location and excellent hospitality, we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Nothing

My room was small, but quite enough for a solo traveller with only a backpack. A suitcase might have been a problem.

It was very convenient to the area, and the hosts were helpful and kind. We had a wonderful dinner while we stayed, enjoyed the lamb and fish & chips. Breakfast was also very tasty, really nice coffee. The bed was comfy and everything in the room was great. It was all good!

The Alexandra Hotel in Ballater is great place to stay in a beautiful village. The bed was very comfortable & breaky was terrific. The ladies who were looking after us were very friendly & efficient. Highly recommended. Nothing

Very clean very professional and helpful staff. Drinks at a reasonable price and a varied lunchtime/evening food menu well cooked and presented well. Breakfast was freshly cooked nice and hot N/A

The location, the staff, the breakfast, just about everything! En Suite facilities, fluffy towels, coffee and tea facilities in the room and excellent WiFi. Very quiet and fantastic staff ! The only thing I would recommend is a bit better mattress for the 73 year old! A mattress topper might have added a bit more comfort.

Great location in the middle of town. Small and basic, but comfortable and clean single room. The dining room and bar were a nice feature. Delicious lamb chops and plenty of whiskies to choose from. Filling and delicious full Scottish breakfast.

Excellent breakfast The bed was uncomfortable as the mattress was v saggy which meant you rolled in to the middle. That bed needs a new firm mattress!

Local near all the shops and restaurants Staff were amazing especially fergie so helpful and chatty. Food was great and the bed was very comfortable

The general ambience and atmosphere. The food was good and the bar had a good choice of beers. The person who checked me in was helpful in that he locked my bike securely in the cellar. Nothing.

Excellent location on edge of town. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Nice restaurant on site with traditional Scottish dishes. Great breakfast is included. Rooms are a little small but are acceptable.

The Alexandra Hotel is a gem. The location is fantastic. The food is delicious. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. It is clean and well maintained. If you go to Ballater this is a great choice.
