While the physical infrastructure of the building is commendable, my time there was marred by a deeply problematic social environment and critical failures in sanitation. Hostile Social Environment Throughout my stay, I felt consistently bombarded by other residents who demanded that I justify my presence. From my first day, I was accosted by individuals insisting on knowing my purpose and background; these interactions often felt less like genuine networking and more like an interrogation. The lack of emotional intelligence in the common areas was palpable. I was specifically targeted by a couple—a man in his mid-to-late 50s, short with a bald head, and his wife—who subjected me to repeated, intrusive questioning regarding my purpose in the building and how I discovered the hostel. Their demeanor left me with the distinct impression that I was being viewed with suspicion, bordering on harassment, rather than being welcomed as a guest. The persistent pressure to "add value" and the invasive nature of these inquiries created a hostile atmosphere. While I encountered a few mature residents who were capable of holding normal conversations, they were the exception. I frequently felt I was being scrutinized by those around me. Furthermore, I witnessed two young men speaking to presumed clients in aggressive, manipulative tones that felt predatory and unprofessional. Ultimately, the environment was so untenable that I had to prioritize my wellbeing and leave after only 8 days, despite having paid for over 20 nights my request for a partial refund was summarily dismissed by the receptionist. It is my firm belief that establishments should not accept payment from guests if they harbor deep-seated prejudices that prevent them from fostering a safe, inclusive environment. Sanitation and Pest Infestation Compounding the negative social atmosphere were severe hygiene concerns that rendered the stay unacceptable. During my time in the building, I observed a significant infestation of both cockroaches and rodents.

If you are looking for a functional, well-maintained space in Koramangala, the Founder Start Up House offers excellent amenities and a clean environment. However, the experience can be significantly hampered by the social culture within the building. While the physical space is top-tier, the social culture—specifically regarding how residents interact with one another—was deeply problematic. Invasive and Persistent Questioning: Throughout my stay, I felt consistently bombarded by other residents demanding to justify my presence in the building. From my first day, I was accosted by individuals insisting on knowing my purpose and background. This often felt less like genuine networking and more like an interrogation. Lack of Emotional Intelligence: Many of the young men in the building lacked the basic conversational skills or "read the room" capabilities expected in a professional or shared living environment. On one occasion, I was even stopped and interrogated by a short older man with a bald head. He was in his mid to late 50s. He wanted to know why I was moving my bags, and generously asked if I needed help. I got the distinct impression that he thought I was stealing my luggage. Later that week, I was interrogated by his wife about my purpose in the building. What was I doing there and how did I come to know about their hostel. The interrogation was unending. Hostile Atmosphere: The repeated, rude, and unnecessary inquiries made me feel bullied and scrutinized rather than welcomed. While I did encounter a few residents who were mature, emotionally intelligent, and capable of holding a normal conversation, they were the exception. The persistent pressure to "add value" and the invasive nature of these interactions made it difficult to feel at ease in the common areas. I often felt I was surrounded by ravenous wolves looking for blood. In the end, I decided to leave early and tried to negotiate a return of half of my payment. I paid for over 20 days but only stayed for 8 days. I was summarily dismissed by the receptionist at the counter and told no refund would be forthcoming. I had to choose between losing the money and maintaining my welfare and wellbeing.

Bed and Room were really clean. I don’t bring a toothbrush and shampoo etc, but this room hasn’t amenities.

Quick review of Draper Startup House Bangalore Great concept for getting into a focused work mode in Bangalore nd India. Strong community vibe, coworking space on-site, good internet, water always available, and a dynamic area. Rooftop events are a nice bonus for networking Cons: — can get stuffy when crowded while events go n the rooftop — staff sometimes wash cars right at the entrance — cleaning of common areas happens during work hours

Kudos to the friendly staff, they were available and helpful at all times at the front desk. Excellent spaces on the ground and top floor to work. Location in Koramangala is central and has easy access to gyms, markets, restaurants and most everything. Highly recommend! When I was there, mosquitoes were annoying in the evening. Although all-out and electric rackets were provided in the common spaces, they weren't working entirely.

My stay was for 1 night. Late 11 pm check-in. I just needed a comfortable bed, a locker to keep my backpack safe, a clean bathroom with hot water available in the morning and an iron to press my shirt before checkout. Front desk showed me to my bed and my locker/closet and answered all questions I had. I got everything I needed at a reasonable price. I didn't have the time or the need to try any other available facilities (such as the kitchen, etc.). Happy with my stay. The insides of the locker/closet given to me, including the rod for hanging clothes, were dusty in several places (brown-colored dust was coming off onto my fingers and I could see it plainly). But this is a triviality. I suppose I could have cleaned them myself but my check-in was late at night and I was tired and lazy and just went to crash after placing my backpack and clothes in the locker, trying to avoid the dusty areas.
