Very nice personal, good commodities, rather quite, location close to the peer and suburban thanks to the tuktuk service of the hotel

Loved staying in a local neighborhood. They offered complimentary tuk tuk rides to the nearest sky train and pier, which was nice although it’s not a long walk. Staff were so helpful and kind. They offered a choice of western or Thai breakfast each day and everything was delicious. The room itself was spacious and our ground floor room had a patio.

Very nice staff, great breakfast, rooms have great space, can coordinate laundry services, great location. Second time staying with them and it was awesome!

Great location in a truly Thai area. Clean and very well kept up, with excellent attention to little details that made our stay even more special. The food was INCREDIBLE! Definitely order the Thai breakfast every morning as the flavours were amazing. We appreciated the access to clean drinking water, the bathroom with a shower that we were allowed to use before we checked in, and the staff who were consistently kind and helpful. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a safe experience of real Thai life in Bangkok. The alley it is on is very very busy, which is entertaining to watch but can be tricky to navigate as a pedestrian getting to the main road. The street noise is present throughout the night but some ear plugs made a big difference.

Awesome quaint place to stay- service is excellent. The staff helped great with everything we needed including transport and arranged our airport pick up taxi at the end. The included breakfast was great- we are vegetarian and they made the pad thai and fried rice into veg version for us with egg or soy balls. They give juice, fruit and thai tea/coffee as well- so good! The ambiance is great- cute garden area with fountain, with a little private porch. The actual room is spacious, bathroom is clean. Nothing to complain about the place itself! only thing we would have changed is the location is slightly out of way for most sights to see in Bangkok, but probably only added another 10 minutes addiitonal taxi/tuk tuk time. I think it was still worth it for the quiet, quaint spot, with amazing service and the perfect ambiance. The road that the hotel is on is narrow so a little inconvenient when walking to the main road as you have to make way for cars/scooters sometime.

The staff was amazing, invaluable, and kind. The breakfast was yummy and had good options. We loved the little garden, very relaxing to sit there. We had a wonderful stay, and I would love to come back Nothing to say here, other than I wish we stayed longer.

It felt like being a part of Thailand staying at this accommodation. Thumbs up for the very nice and helpful stuff there. Nearby you can find a lot of good local and cheap restaurants and nice coffee shops as well. Next time I really want to stay at this accommodation again!! Nothing

We had a wonderful stay at Focal Local Bed and Breakfast. Our rooms had great air conditioning and were very comfy. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and they provided thai tea and fresh orange juice as well.

The friendliness of the staff left the greatest impression. They were very welcoming and made us feel well cared for. Our room was large and comfortable, and even had a nice city view at night (top floor). The delicious breakfasts are cooked individually. Hotel provides a free tuk-tuk ride to nearby public transportation options (one-way: from the hotel, but not to the hotel). Walking from the closest metro station takes 15-25min, depending on your route. The local area is overall rather average, though we did eat at a great vegan restaurant (10min walk away). Certainly local, not touristy. The only downside was road noise—despite being on a smaller street, there were loud motorbikes. This was particularly intrusive because the lobby and breakfast area has a semi-open floorplan. Not an issue while sleeping (though our room was on the top floor). Lastly, the lobby has a good collection of movies and books, should you want a night in.

Unusual location in a less touristy neighborhood. Friendly, conscientious staff, who offered smart advice and served a lovely breakfast with choice of Thai or Western food. We had a comfortable and spacious room with fridge, kettle, hairdryer, lamps. Free tuktuk to Skytrain station or ferry docks. Skytrain was walkable, tho' without luggage and at cooler times of day. Small problem with malfunctioning A/C was dealt with fast and with a smile. We had to change rooms but it was all done with such consideration and kindness. Liked it so well that we stayed an extra night. Based on earlier bookingdot reviews, we thought taking the ferry cross the river from a transit station would be easy. It wasn't. One ferry service has been discontinued. The ferry service that exists was confusing and haphazard. And it isn't so easy to jump onto an open barge with a suitcase. Perhaps Focal Local should recommend that guests take a tuktuk from the nearest Skytrain station when they first arrive. Sorry, can't recall its name.

The staff was so wonderful and catered to our every need. The property was small and quaint, perfect reprieve from the big city! The breakfast was amazing as well, we felt like royalty. If you’re a light sleeper you may want to consider bringing ear plugs, just incase a loud motorbike goes by!

A lovely, charming b&b in a great area of Bangkok. So many shops, restaurants, easy to walk around and very welcoming neighbourhood. We had a lovely garden patio, large room, everything we could need. The staff were very kind and helpful when I ended up in hospital and they helped my hubby with everything he needed including an extra night stay! Thank you for your kindness ? I found the noise from the bikes on the adjacent road a bit loud but it was pretty quiet during sleep hours. Nothing to worry about, one of many charms of Bangkok!

Amazing place! Room is big and clean. Service and staff are just so good. I did not like the location because I prefer something central. That's why I didn't give a perfect score.

We loved Focal Local. Really lovely staff, great breakfast ( choice of Thai or western), absolutely immaculately clean and in a really good area. When you check in you get a great map of the area with lots of places to eat recommended plus their walking distances. Much appreciated. It's easy to find good food and coffee nearby and the district is still very 'local', as in not touristy or expensive. There's a free tuk tuk shuttle if you're too hot to walk to the BTS or ferry. Our room was spacious with comfy bed and big shower. We also received a Christmas present ? Absolutely recommended ? and we'll definitely return.

Nothing per se, but keep in mind that the location, even though very good in my opinion, implies that you will have to spend a bit more time (and money) on taxi, grab, tuk tuk etc. We ate talking about very low amount of money, maybe 3-4 euros per day, which is nothing. Plus, most activities start close to the river, therefore location is convenient in this case, the only point is that crossing the bridge by car during rush hours takes time, traffic in Bangkok is real
