Rama Gardens Hotel Bangkok

We stayed here because I was reminiscing earlier Bangkok visits when the airport was still Don Meuang (DMK). The hotel has grown old but I love that the staff’s warm, wonderful service has stayed the same. They also had a good breakfast buffet with both Asian and Western food choices. NA

the food for breakfast is not variaty and need to be separated for muslim and non muslim . Halal food is restricted for muslim and can not be mixed with non Halal food

The rooms, common areas and pool area are run down and therefore not that clean. And the breakfast did not taste good.

Nice staff, good breakfast, pool is ok, have good sporting facilities. Nice hotel, definitely not 5 stars. Saying it's 5 stars disappoints people when they get there. 4 stars max, probably 3.

Fantastic experience while living at this property. Great staff, exceptionally good service, location is only disadvantageous, and taxi drivers are most crooked here in Thailand (else stay at Rama Gardens was perfect) Crook nature of taxi drivers in Thailand to reach to this resort - since thsi is far off from main city and major locations. Otherwise stay and other facilities were just exceptionally good!

My husband and I and our two children stayed here for 1 night at the beginning and two nights at the end of our trip to Thailand. The grounds are nice to walk around. Our kids liked the goats out in the pen on the property and the flowers and topiaries shaped like elephants. The food at the breakfast buffet and the restaurant was very good. Plenty of Asian and Western options. Kids and adults were both happy. The pool was very nice and always quiet during our stay. We didn't use the sport courts but saw many others using them and they seemed nice. The rooms were fine - nothing too fancy- but the air con was strong, beds comfortable, clean and the hotel was quiet which is what we were looking for. It was easy to get a Grab Cab to/from BKK airport (about a 40-45 min ride for us midday). The ride to Don Mueang was very short (about 10 minutes for us). The staff was very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay! I've stayed at this hotel a few times in the last 15 years. It's looking a bit worn and dated now and in need of some sprucing up, I suppose. Still, there are many very nice aspects of it and we found our needs were met and exceeded in some ways. There isn't much around the hotel that is walkable (besides the hotel ground themselves) and the hotel is quite far away from most of the tourist attractions. So, if you're looking to be close to those things, you should stay closer to the tourist areas as a taxi ride would be long and costly from Rama Gardens, I think. We did take the complimentary shuttle to the mall one day, which was a nice accommodation, but we were tired and didn't feel adventurous enough to travel beyond that to the tourist places on this trip. We took a taxi home from the mall because the van driver said there wouldn't be another shuttle running because no one signed up to ride it for the later time. He gave us a hotel card to give to the taxi driver and it was no trouble to get a taxi at the taxi stand. We were looking for a quiet, affordable hotel that was close to Don Mueang Airport for our short stay in Bangkok-so it was exactly what we were looking for and we would stay here again if we do a similar trip.

It’s very hard to flush the toilet. By the time I flushed, water dripping down to the roll of toilet paper. Elderly and young kids wouldn’t be able to flush the toilet for sure. Same one song play over and over all days long and the following too. No rotation at all. Almost drives me crazy.

The staff was nice (lawan), the fitness center was pretty good. The restaurants were conveniently located. The bathroom door was kind of dirty. The room was uneventful. Their property talks about 4-5 stars. I think that’s a stretch. I would say 3 to 3 1/2 maybe. The facilities were spread out. I actually use the pool and I was no one nobody was at the Swim bar. They cannot be found. Somebody told me they go into the facilities center. I did and the person I talked to was completely 100% clueless. In fact, there were three people there and I ordered food and they were completely dumbfounded. You think that I was ordering food for the first time. The staff came out to the pool to take my order and they had no idea I was in the water (in the pool area no less!) AMAZING When the food did show up, there were no napkins and no utensils again amazing.

We really liked the bath tub and how close it was to DMK upon arrival. The room was huge. The staff were friendly. The rooms were quiet and clean. You could tell that it had a lot of potential but that it is older and felt a little outdated. Some of it is because it is so big it is probably hard to keep up with it. We had some electrical issues and it was hard to find towels for the pool. We also found it hard to know where exactly the gardens were. It would have been nice to have a map. It also took a lot longer to get back to the airport because of how roads are designed.

Location not so far from airport and other places. Easy to find grab or taxi. Fore Muslim people quit difficult to get halal food around the hotel.

Convenient to DMK airport for a quick stop. Had a nice pool and the rooms were very nice. Not easy to eat anywhere but the hotel as there is nowhere in walking distance to eat.
