The people who work here are awesome! night was the only night I slept well—I had a top bunk and all the fans were working (travelers from the US should note this building has no AC). The second night, I was in a bottom bunk because of how the bookings worked out, and I felt like I was being boiled alive. Things got interesting on nights three and four— I assumed the “private room with shared bathroom” was similar to every other hostel I’ve ever stayed at, where 2 or 3 private rooms share one bathroom. This was not the case. I paid over $200 a night to share the exact same bathrooms as before, with the residents of the entire hostel! The same bathroom, in fact, where I had to flush someone else’s turd down the toilet as soon as I checked in. BARRRRFFFF!!!! The fifth night they had room again in the bunks but I didn’t sleep for the heat again. The walls are not sound-proofed, as advertised, or perhaps they are but since the doors are not, that doesn’t matter. This hostel does not have any events organized for guests, though like I said, the staff were very nice. This whole place needs to be massively updated and the pricing structure needs to be fixed. My Madrid hostel is three times nicer for far less money.

Aircon and fans weren’t effective enough. Travelling in June/July the property struggled. Sticky morning to night - aircon in bedrooms only and at least the one in my room wasn’t strong enough to keep the room cool - all other rooms of the hostel used fan that did nothing to reduce humidity or make you feel comfortable

The staff were amazing!! Everyone I talked to at the front desk over my 5 day stay was really nice and helpful. This was a poor value for the cost. I’ve stayed in many, many hostels. I did not enjoy this one. The first night was the only night I slept well—I had a top bunk and all the fans were working (travelers from the US should note this building has no AC). The second night, I was in a bottom bunk because of how the bookings worked out, and I felt like I was being boiled alive. Loved the central location and that you could purchase breakfast on site. The top bunk beds are GREAT because all the fans blow air UP. My first night, I was assigned a top bunk & I slept great. The bottom bunk beds are a furnace. All the fans point up, so the bottom bunks get no air circulation at all. I hardly slept when I was assigned a bottom bunk. I am staying here 5 days total. There seem to be a lot of 2- to 4-year-olds staying in the hostel at this time, so relaxing in the common room is not really an option.

My husband and I have stayed at many hostels and this one was excellent. I will say I was shocked because I didn’t realize it didn’t have ac but they have multiple fans so we were just fine. The showers were not the best because the shower curtain blows out and the water goes straight to the floor. I ended up flooding the bathroom because I didn’t realize the water was shooting out. So partially my fault. But the room was great and so were the people. Very welcoming!

Location was excellent. Loved our little balcony. Lovely old building with lots of character Friendly and helpful staff. Was hoping for a cup a coffee before I left but coffee machine and most of kitchen pretty grubby. Pillows pretty uncomfortable. Not great value for $$$ in my opinion but can’t beat the location.

Great location within easy walking distance of both the metro and many things to do yet a little outside of the craziness of the most touristy areas. Staff was friendly and the 7 euro laundry service was appreciated. While this is a hostel and does have some dorm/shared room, we had a private room with a balcony which was just like a regular hotel room. The hostel was plenty quiet at night. It felt very expensive for a hostel but we did visit during Semana Santa. Maybe this is just the norm for Barcelona.

during my stay, the first day the front desk check in lady was super nice and helpful giving us a lot of detailed restaurants information, but the last day, the front lady give such a cold attitude to me and my child which made me do not want to stay here next time
