Hotel Nouvel

It was the perfect location for the things we wanted to do.

The staff was very helpful in answering questions, arranging for taxi to the airport and recommending a close and very good restaurant. It is quite a walk from where the bus from the airport leaves one off, so getting to it on our 1st attempt required asking several folks for it's location and then finally arriving there with our luggage in spite of a bad knee that made the walk more difficult.

They were terrible about replying to emails and the chat/message feature. So much so that I could not book an airport shuttle with them.

Shower and sink drains overflowed every night.

You know you’re in a good hotel when you walk into the lobby and it smells good. Not only that, but the staff were so friendly and the building is beautiful!

Water wasn't hot in the morning for my shower.

Location, size of the room and the charm of this older hotel which prefer because it has character. Breakfast was lovely at the restaurant and also enjoyed the food for lunch. Enchanting overall. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Would happily return No in room coffee or tea, shower needed upgrade as hard to step into the tub as my knee hurts (smile)

Each room should have a kettle for guests to make teas. The hotel should provide two bottles of drinking waters in each room each day.

Didn't want or need the bidet, just took up space in the large bathroom.

Location Gave me the worst room with a window looking block by a roof

Loved the location close to La Rambla. The breakfast was very good with great selection of food. The elevator is small and slow. There is nobody available to assist with baggage or explain room services. I would have like a little more service in explains the services available.

The hotel itself is really nice, with little balconies and a great location. Amenities are pretty standard, i.e. wifi and breakfast for a small charge. Beds were very comfortable, and A/C was appreciated during our mini heat wave. The staff were not very friendly, and rude at times. The process of creating the reservation on booking.com was also very difficult--Nouvel requires that you verify a credit card outside of the booking.com system (which already has a verified credit card on file!), and Nouvel sends emails every day, threatening to cancel your reservation if you don't comply. Even when their system was broken, the would not reply in a helpful way, and would just send additional threats. So--if you can get past this, and just ignore the front desk treatment, the hotel and location are lovely.

The shower head points outward so the entire bathroom floor was completely soaked. Really couldn't shower properly. We were in room 506.

Location Didn't know how to operate shower, neither did staff!! We figured it out ourselves!!

I was there for 4 nights and there was a lot of noise while trying to sleep. The next-door building was loud and I could hear shouting up until midnight. It could have been where my room was located on the first floor.

Good location and good breakfast (if you pay extra for it) Way too much money for the rooms that were small and outdated decor. Pedestrian only area , so be prepared to walk with your luggage. Staff was rude and just ignored multiple customers standing waiting to check in.

We had a small group and wanted to use the roof area for a group meeting but they refused because we were 5 minutes late.
