Everything Nothing

The hotel was modern, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay in Barcelona. As it was my first time visiting Barcelona, some of the main attractions felt a bit far away without local transportation. It required a short walk to reach the nearest metro station, and as a first-time visitor, I found the metro to be the best and most convenient way to get around the city. Once familiar with it, exploring Barcelona became much easier.

The hotel is placed in a nice and calm neighborhood and close to metro station Vallcarca (just take the elevator to Republica Argentina and all is easy). The room was nice, clean and comfortable (especially bed!). The air conditioning worked perfectly. Excellent value for money.

The quality of the room The pool is tiny and the hotel is a long way away from everything

My room smelled like cigarette smoke, the bathtub was impossible to climb in to.

Very nice breakfast. Staff was very attentive and professional. Room was very clean. On this specific visit, our room had a very squeaky bed on one side. No back support either. On our last day, the bathroom only sprayed scalding hot water regardless of the handle positions for shower or sink. Weird, but it prevented us from using the water on that particular morning. Would be nice to have more instant coffee packets in the room. Be prepared, the fitness/gym is quite small and unfortunately was not accessible on one of our days there.

Located in the rolling hills within the northern part of the city, this hotel was very clean and we always felt safe. This was the first of our 2-part stay at the Catalonia. Our room was very nice. We found the entire staff, from housekeeping to front desk, to be very attentive and supportive to our needs. Breakfast was very nice with quite a variety of choices. There are many places available within a short walking distance if you need something or just want to grab a drink or snack. We elected to use the Metro as much as possible during our stay to get around in Barcelona, and there are two Metro stations fairly close to the hotel (Penitents and Vallcarca). Overall, we were pleased with the accommodations and enjoyed staying at the Catalonia. I wish the fitness room was a bit larger. Better than nothing, but it is small. So is the pool. The picture online is a bit deceiving. No major issues or complaints during this particular visit.

The location was good and the lobby/reception was lovely. The breakfast was good. While the lobby was lovely and new, the hallways were older and the room was not as new as the lobby.

Sara del staff muy amable con nosotros. Siempre dispuesta a ayudar y con buena actitud.
-
All nice and the view from the room was wonderful All good. We did not try the breakfast offered, as we found it expensive for what was listed in the menu
-
Very small room with almost no exterior view (tiny window). In my opinion, it was overpriced.

The hotel was in a central location for all the activities we were doing. A very quiet neighborhood. Had a great breakfast, although it was very pricey. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. We were able to walk a short distance from the hotel to some good food. The bathroom was a very odd shape with a very small shower, so small that the shower curtain hugged your body while you showered. The bed was extremely hard. No room on the street outside for a taxi to let you unload/load luggage.
-
The property is not centrally located although easy enough to there via metro. The hotel lobby is dark and unwelcoming and when we checked in, there was one female staff at reception trying to check in 4 different male parties at 1am. The couple ahead of us were clearly checking in for an hour. The elevator is insanely small and uncomfortable, the hallways are are dark and dated, the rooms small.

Location was far from everything. No good restraints near by. Taxis expensive to get around.

location was great, corner shop open late right next to hotel, hotel entrance is very smart, restaurant very nice, easy travel in and out of central barcelona. overall the room was clean and lovely bathroom. room was fine but the walls are thin on the budget floor that we were staying in. could ignore this right up to final night when we found ourselves in the middle of a what sounded like a teenage school trip party who arrived at 7pm. mayhem of noise, screaming, shouting, screeching, laughing, running footsteps up and down corridor, hammering on and slamming doors relentless and constant. went on until about midnight when i think other room occupants had complained. think school party of screaming 16 year olds running in and out of each others rooms with seemingly no adult supervision. maybe they went to the nice bar.

It was clean and comfortable. There were no sleepers in the room.
-
The room was a little bit small and the furniture too basic, but it is OK for a few nights. At the same time, the bathroom was huge and convenient. The one thing we didn't like was the noise. Probably the walls are not sound-insulated very well and all the noise from speaking, walking, etc. from the other guests was very loud.

Great hotel

It’s in uphill walk to go from the subway station to the hotel. Not a big deal, but just in case you can’t walk a lot, it may be an issue.
