Location only Very Disappointing Stay at Claris Hotel Unfortunately, my experience at Claris Hotel was very disappointing, especially considering that it is presented as a 5-star hotel on Booking.com. The biggest issue happened at check-in. The hotel had already received my payment in advance, yet they would not allow me to check in unless I paid again. They gave me two options: either pay a second time and have the original payment cancelled and refunded—which they said would take at least 7 days—or they would treat the reservation as a no-show and keep the money. This is absolutely ridiculous and not the experience I would expect from a 5-star hotel. Unfortunately, the problems didn’t stop there. Every day, after housekeeping cleaned the room, there was no bottled drinking water left. I had to call and request water every single day. For a hotel of this standard, basic drinking water should be automatically replenished during housekeeping. The most disappointing issue was the lack of soundproofing. You could hear practically everything happening in the neighboring rooms and throughout the floor. It was extremely difficult to sleep, and this is completely unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be 5-star. On top of that, the air conditioning was not working properly, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. The only real positive for me was the location. It is very convenient and well situated. Overall, I expected much more from Claris Hotel. Based on my experience, I would choose another hotel next time. Very disappointing.

This hotel is in the heart of Barcelona but also tucked away on a small street. It's my second time there and I am so glad to say it has not changed since I was last there in over 20 years ago. A true jem and I will be back again very soon.

Excellent location. Could walk to many locations and also close to metro. Staff were super helpful with where to eat etc. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable.

The superior room felt a little dated, not as nice as the first time four years ago. We arrived late at night and unfortunately we were handed the keys to a room that was already occupied, so we were really startled walking into a room where other guest were sleeping and they woke up startled and screaming when we walked in. A human error, but still not expected from a hotel that is 5-star rated.

It's the second time we stayed at this hotel. The first time was four years ago. We simply like the location and the roof top pool very much. Location was superb. The staff prior to arrival and during stay were exceptional. Prompt responses, nothing was too much trouble. We needed luggage lock and one of the porter/door staff went and sourced one for us. Truly great. The Terazza bar and restaurant were fantastic - nothing better than a roof top bar. The staff there, especially Jose were exceptional. Highly recommend. The beds are a bit small. We are used to bigger beds in Australasia.
