Bed & Breakfast Gatto Bianco

The accommodation was more or less okay. It had 2 rooms — one with 2 single beds and one with a double bed. The rooms were fine, clean, perhaps with windows that were too small and with no view whatsoever, but that didn't bother us too much — what mattered more was the convenience of having beds for the children and a hallway in between. The bathroom, however, was very problematic — if you took a shower or did anything else, the floor would get very messy — puddles of water, dirt, hair, accumulated dust — and it gave a very unkempt feeling. Breakfast was somewhere on the ground floor but not very generous, and the ladies there were not particularly friendly. A very big downside was also the check-in process. After receiving an email saying I should download an app and enter all my details there — worse than applying for a VISA — which I did, and it took a while!!! — in their system, no check-in appeared as completed. We arrived at the accommodation at 2:30 PM local time, and check-in was from 3:00 PM. We called to see if we could get in, considering there were only 30 minutes left, and they told me that no check-in was showing up in their system and to send them scanned documents, and maybe they would give me the access code afterwards. In the meantime, it was 2:50 PM, I sent them the documents and let them know we were downstairs and could come in, but we didn't receive the access code until around 3:10 PM — while we were sitting and waiting in front of the building with the children in the car — a sad experience.

The location was great - it’s close both to the train station (10 min walk) and it’s a 4 min walk to the bus stop that takes you to the beach. The breakfast is a big plus! Same thing was served everyday but it was convenient to have something in the morning. The staff were helpful. The floor of the room was scratched everywhere. When we arrived there was mold in the shower and all over the AC unit. We contacted the staff and asked to be switched to another room. They said it’s impossible as they were fully booked but told us someone would come to clean it the following day, but the following day they said they were waiting on cleaning supplies. So finally on day 3 someone came and cleaned it. They cleaned it well but it was inconvenient to breathe in mold for 3 days.

Good price. Close to Bari town centre and station. Quiet The check in process is terrible. The property is not manned and requires an app to check in. Use of the app is not intuitive and we managed to lock our bags in a room that we should not have been in. One of the door locks did not work. Thankfully we were able to contact a staff member to come help.

We had a wonderful stay at Gatto Bianco House. The location is super right in the center, close to everything. The room was specious, with an amazing balcony. bed was very comfortable. Very good breakfast at the caffe right on the corner. Everything was good no complaint, except the floor could have been a bit cleaner.

Location is convenient.. Nice size room. We had the Bianco room up upstairs. The breakfast was good. The room was quiet. For one night before a cruise it was perfect. There is plenty of room for 4 people in Bianco room and nice places to put your luggage. We didn't have our passports uploaded online ready to go for self check in, so we had to wait for a while. I didn't realize it was self check in. I needed more pillows. I also was unsure which room was ours at first and entered the code at the wrong room. The code worked which makes me wonder if they are all the same code. So I was a little worried leaving our things inside.there are a lot of stairs. A small elevator for luggage or people.

The room was spacious and well equipped. We had a view of the courtyard from the room, but at least it was quiet from the street. The accommodation is in a perfect location, not far from the center. We only met the staff at breakfast (a short distance from the accommodation) - the breakfast was excellent and the staff very pleasant. The wifi signal in the room was weaker - the Verde room. Otherwise, the accommodation was as expected. The only small disappointment - there was a large bathtub in the room and we wanted to fill it, but the capacity of the boiler (which we only found out when the water in the bathtub was cold) was not at all sufficient.

The room was bellow expectations! Probably it was not updated since construction… the walls were dirty, there was rust in the bathroom, the water in the toilet did not stop and we could hear it from the room… all night. The door lock was not working… after we insisted that we cannot leave the room and let out stuff inside they give us a key. Another problem was with a window that was broken and could not be closed…. so it always stayed open.
