Manager was polite and apologetic, but this wasn't good enough for the issues I experienced. This hotel was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I had booked it for 3 nights and I ended up checking out after 1. The room was disgusting, all of walls were battered and had obvious food and drink stains all over them. The lamps were hanging off the walls, the ceiling paint is peeling off in the shower cubicle. There was a shower curtain in the shower that was questionable. The room was extremely hot and uncomfortable to sleep in. I drove for 4 hours from Runcorn, Cheshire in the North and when I arrived, there were no EV chargers at the hotel, and they were not serving any food to hotel guests because they had a coach trip there for the day! When I complained, I was told to order a Deliveroo. The WiFi in the room was shockingly poor and made it impossible to watch anything, and tele was not an option because the remote control didn't work. There is a steakhouse restaurant on the photos of this hotel when you look to book it, that's completely closed and not an option. This hotel has clearly been used to house migrants and its been ran into the ground. The photos included on this site are from 10+ years ago and do not reflect the hotel you will arrive at. I would avoid staying at this hotel. When working away, you can only rely on Booking.com photos and reviews, I suggest this hotel is updated by the site to avoid disappointing future travellers.

Staff were plesent and the breakfast was good, the location was good for getting about to sight see from. the parking was ok Ok a base to sightsee from, hotel was more like a Premier Inn. it could do with a refresh, first room we were give the toilet didnt work and the bath room ight flickered like a disco light, to be honest the staff were good and upgraded us, this consisted of being moved up a floor to a room with threadbare curtins, a fan that was broken, with no main room light. Breakfast was good and understandable why its used by so many tradesmen. seeing as it was supposed to be a hotel I found it strange that you had to book a time slot to use the pool, this to would benifit from a refurb as it has tiles missing from the jacuzzi and when stepping in the first step is a really long way down not good if you have mobility issues. the bed was ok nothing special

Air-con in lobby. The food was not great. My mother-in-law and son did not eat their dinner due to mash and sausages not tasting right and they had put something in mash which made it taste like smash! Also, our bedroom was boiling hot the window had blown so couldn't see out. The sockets in the bedroom were all the opposite side to beds so needed extension leads for our fans (brought our own - Thank God!) The hotel could not find extension leads until 12.30am at which point me and mother-in-law had spent most of the time in lobby due to heat upstairs. The breakfast was not appetising and only had toast. Also, after breakfast finished needed to speak with reception where there were 2 other guests waiting and I found the receptionist serving himself breakfast!! No one manning the front desk. You need to book swimming which we did but ended up leaving due to experience and wanted to leave. Would not recommend.

The hotel was beautiful downstairs, but i expected more from the room for a four star hotel ... fairly basic no better than a Premier Inn. very loud drunk guests smoking outside the hotel kept us awake

The staff was very nice at the time they were shortstaffed and I think overworked one thing that happened was we were waiting for the bar to open. The staff arrived late and then had to set the bar up putting change into the till and opening all the shutters which took quite a long time with several people waiting but that is not the staff’s fault. The staff that worked there were very very nice. We were told several people didn’t turn up for work which put a lot of pressure on the people that did work under the circumstances. They did very well all the food was delivered to all the tables as you would expect they were amazing and worked very, very hard The stuff that we’re on duty were brilliant and under an awful lot of pressure and they handled it so well
