Tru By Hilton Baton Rouge I-10 East

The receptionist I believe her name was Christy, such a sweetheart!! She made my stay a little better. Also loved the lemon hand and body soap/lotion. Loved the plethora of food choices that surrounded the hotel. I took a 3 day sabbatical to rest/relax and this is the place I decided to stay because my son stayed at the one in another city and loved it. When I pulled the sheet back it was a glue like stain on there and I started to take a pic but didn’t. Thankfully I brought my own sheet/towels so I covered it. Late into the night my first night I heard loud walking or stomping above me well after 1am. These days you don’t know whether to say anything without possible repercussions so I turned on my phone and played thunder and rain sounds. Woke up the next morning for breakfast and fixed me a cup of grits that were really good until I look and saw a piece of hair in the middle of the bowl. Reported it to the receptionist and she offered to get someone to make another pot but I told her I didn’t want anymore so she went in the back and told someone who I think was the manager. Manager never came and asked questions or apologize or even check the pot and she passed by me several times. That was really disrespectful to me so I did not come back down for breakfast for the remainder of my stay. Second night the room next to me put on music that was so loud I had to turn my thunder sound back on and cover my ears in order to try and sleep although there is clearly a quiet time sign that says 10pm-the morning. My son said I should have requested another room but I didn’t feel like repacking all my stuff.

TRU was very clean and staff was great. The breakfast options were not that great compared to other hotels/competitors that offer the same breakfast as part of the stay.

Everything was great, just make sure you're not assigned the room on the first floor by the employees break room. They are very loud and you can hear everything in the room. They may need to be reminded that being that loud early in the morning, isn't good when you have guest thats there for rest and relaxation.

Mattress was too firm for my liking but other than that it was excellent.

Loved everything

I have a service dog and this is the only hotel I trust that makes our stay so relaxing. No continuous knocks on our door causing my dog to bark. The cleanliness and breakfast make us feel welcome, every time. I will always choose Tru by Hilton on I-10 when in Baton Rouge.
