Hotel Villa KOEGUI Bayonne

Staff very friendly The breakfast which we paid $19 euros for was terrible. Bread loaves were cut by each customer and no sanitation so the bread was touch by many. The 2nd day the food (except croissants) looked like it was leftovers from a previous day. Certainly not worth the money.

The suite was spacious and cozy. The breakfast was delicious. There were many options available on the buffet, and the self-service nature an informal affair. The location of the hotel was great - easy walking distance to the Grand Bayonne (old city), as well as museums and a variety restaurants. Personnel at reception were not very welcoming and provided unclear explanation about parking near the hotel. Given that we had booked a suite, were surprised that the desk receptionist only walked us to the elevator rather than ushering us to the room, and explaining the services/appliances there. -

The hotel is newly furnished, the rooms are clean, and the location is convenient for exploring the area. The hotel staff lacked the kindness, compassion, and hospitality expected when traveling. I observed several tourists struggling to understand procedures and navigate the hotel, and I was personally reprimanded while trying to fill my water bottle for a day of travel, despite cleaning up after myself afterward. For travelers who are not fluent in French or who are looking for a warm and welcoming atmosphere, this may not be the best choice, especially considering the cost of the stay.

Room is a bit small

A nice hotel. Very well located. Central and quiet. The main hall, with its restaurant, bar, terrace, is beautifully designed. It seems many details were considered. Reasonable breakfast. However, not enough vegetables and fruits and on one of the mornings they ran out of bread, croissants and any dough. They said it's coming, but it never did... Very good evening restaurant. The in-charge persons (I don't know their names: a young woman on our first evening and a young man on third/last evening) on the two dinners we had there were very professional, nice and courteous. Internet connection was very annoying. We had to reconnect every time we entered the room. most of the time it took us several attempts until we got connection. In laptop as well, which was left in the room and was not supposed to lose connection. Room was small. You have to go to the toilet crossing the bathroom, so if one person is having a shower, he does not have privacy. No refrigerator in the room!!! The bathroom is large but the promised "free toiletries" included just one small body cream, which was finished after the first shower and was never replaced, and a hard small soap... Although there is a large beautiful print of a picture on the wall, the room is very modest with no much space for hanging clothing or putting them somewhere. Cleaning is not great...

Beautiful!!

Breakfast was comparable to other buffet breakfasts we have had across Europe. The sauna was nice to have after a day of walking. The ability to access our room early was much appreciated as well as the storage of our bags after checkout. First off, the staff at reception were friendly, when approached, and the one female staff member was great with restaurant ideas (and she was always smiling.). The rest of the staff were aloof and always heads down in their phones. At this price point, our expectations of staff were a little higher as we were left with the impression they didn’t care if we were there or not.

Location is amazing, short walk to most Bayonne sights (the art museum is next door). Our room had an excellent view of the rooftops of nearby buildings. Staff was friendly and helpful. Fun decor.

Lovely new hotel in a quiet location. Top of the line build. Great room. Lovely restaurant. I stopped a night on a vacation but suspect it’s a great spot for business travelers. Highly recommend. Nothing.
