It’s position could not be beaten right on the front lovely atmosphere old world British please don’t change ! Relaxing for a break away from a busy life Parking awful not enough room for owners staying at the property opposite public car park closes early too x

The location is superb and the hotel makes the most of the outside area. Our sea-view room attracted noisy seagulls outside the bedroom window but i suppose that is to be expected at a seafront hotel.

No air conditioning. While the view facing south to the Menai Strait, mountains, and the pier was stunning, it also meant that the sun made the room pretty hot. We kept the large window open the whole time. But, we had to close it and the drapes when we went to bed. The room got uncomfortably warm at that point. The lift was out of order for the second half of our stay. So, for anyone with mobility issues, having to use the stairs would be challenging. The bathroom in our room was in need of an update. The bathtub was probably put in in the early 1980s, and the handheld shower wand was not the greatest. Aside from these issues, The Bulkeley Hotel was wonderful as far as being right in the middle of Beaumaris and the in front of the pier. The building is beautiful and most of the staff were extremely friendly. It just needs a major update (hopefully while preserving the charm of its history). Air conditioning would make this hotel a million times better.

the staff were friendly. The breakfast was ok. close to the promenade. the room was accessible only via the very steep staircase and the lift was not working. the view from the room overlooked the roof which was covered in bird guano and gull corpses. it had inadequate ventilation, which consisted of opening a window which also was covered in a thick layer of bird droppings . the warm weather made the room quite unpleasant to sleep so we left a day early. parking was an issue at times.

Lovely traditional hotel. Staff were friendly and polite Rooms were large and clean Excellent location Good selection at breakfast Nothing not to like

Stayed 2 nights. All staff welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Staff very accommodating. close to town and castle Stayed 2 nights. Room a little tired and no hot water on the morning we left so couldn't have a shower. We did leave early but no excuse. we paid an extra £20 per night for our dog, no obvious reason why. would have expected a Bowl for water/food in the room. because we had our dog with us we couldn't choose a room with a view so would have expected our room to have been a bit cheaper. total paid including breakfast with added £40 for dog £389.20.

Staff food , view from room window . Comfort of all the hotel - room , resturant & coffee house . DOGS , understand people want to take there pets but the hotel should look at limiting the numbers . On our last night everybody booking in had at least one dog ! Went to get in lift on Saturday morning with bags etc on way to check out & 4 person & 5 dogs ! (Not small dogs either )There was no way we could get into lift , and if there had been room probable we wouldn't as all dogs were knee to top of thigh height . Hotel needs to look at this ?

Spacious, 'Grand' hotel, full of interesting antiques and art. Rather dated room and bathroom on 2nd floor.

  • Engine customer May 2026

Great room considering we had our dog with us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Shower lacked power.

  • Engine customer May 2026

Very good breakfast and the room had great views. The room was a lot smaller then expected and we could hear next door snoring.

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

The staff as usual were excellent and the room (202) was ok but on the small side as we had two dogs with us. We have stayed at the Bulkeley many times and have always looked forward to our time there. On this occasion however, we were disappointed with the dinner menu compared to previous stays and the bacon chop I had on one night was really underdone. We feel that the prices have increased too much. For example, £5.50 for a scone in the Deli, is way over the top.

Great location and convenient parking, lovely breakfast plenty of choice Nothing it was great

  • Engine customer Nov 2025

It is a great location The room was above the front door, so constant banging late at night/early morning. The room was hot, but there was a lot of noise from the road, especially in the early morning. Staff were not particularly accommodating to questions - felt, as a customer, like an inconvenience

  • Engine customer Oct 2025

Location, good communication, parking on site and helpful staff. The hotel retains its character both inside and out. The duvets were too heavy. More walk in shower rooms would be helpful. No instructions on how to use the shower over the bath connection.

  • Engine customer Oct 2025

The position was fantastic. The hotel however is crying out for a refurb.. however the shabby chic look is not that bad!! On opening the door to the bedroom the heat from the room was overpowering!! The radiator wasn’t even on!!!

  • Engine customer Sep 2025

We enjoyed the whole experience with great staff and quality dining. Have been a number of times and will continue in the future. The weather! The hotel, of course, had no hand in this, but their coffee lounge was a good option, with comfortable seating and waitress service!

  • Engine customer Aug 2025

Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere

  • Engine customer Aug 2025

Frequent visitors,so we know the advantages of its location etc. Most of the hotel is covered with carpets. On this visit we seemed to be overun with dogs. I was not comfortable with that for hygiene reasons .

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

The hotel location is amazing with fabulous views from the sea view rooms, which was a lovely size. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is looking a little tired for the price, inside and out, especially in the bedroom. There was no thermostatic shower so you had to fiddle with the taps to control the temperature. The furnishings were also very dated. More frequent window-cleaning would also help.
