AVIC Hotel Beijing

It’s hard to find a relatively soft bed in China. But at this location they have it and you don’t feel that you’re sleeping on the floor.

The staff was exceptional. They made every extra effort to assist me when I needed help, and I needed a lot. Nothing.

The hotel got an extra deposit of RMB500 which it never paid me back. They claimed to send it to my account. It's over a month not and they have not! I did not appreciate the lack of honesty. They should either not collect the deposit at check-in or pay immediately at checking out.

staff at desk didnt want to lend us a towel when we had checked out. we even offered to pay but it seemed like too hard work. we were sweaty because it was very hot and we came back from visiting the great wall. we were collecting our bags and wanting to have a shower. The staff member wouldn't allow us a room even if we paid full price. we were even happy to pay for a dirty room to just use the shower. he refused and wouldn't let us have a towel to rinse off in the bathroom. This was disappointing service.

Location, price Air con not working as well as hoped. A little dated.

AVIC Hotel is one of the best hotel in Beijing for position, staff, room clean, finest restaurant available, and much more. The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the metro station Guomao (World Trade Center, World China Mall, business area) and offers to the customers a worderful stay. The room we have booked was small with a tiny bed, but they gave us a big one with a king size without any extra to pay. The restaurant at the 2nd floor was delicious, with a book_menu where we have found all the pictures of the dishes served with a description in english and the amount of spicy in each of them. The night before our leave they booked a taxi for us to the airport, and it was ready to move on time. During the check out they checked the room and found one of my shirt I forgot in the wardrobe. Everything was perfect. Congratulations to everyone. The only think I recommend is to have more staff who can speak english. Sometime it was a little bit difficult to communicate.

The staff were very helpful and apologized that the pool was closed . Which I had looked forward to using. The fact that the pool was closed . It stared on the internet that it would be open. The traffic noise was constant...I found it difficult to sleep..

This hotel is beautiful, and exactly as described and pictured on booking.com Every part of the hotel, the foyer, corridors, lifts, rooms, were immaculate The room which was a good size with large window to the outside world, with armchairs and a comfortable bed, was well equipped with toiletries, hair dryer, dressing gown, slippers, sewing kit, kettle, tea, coffee, bottled water, fruit, TV etc, basically everything anyone would want who stayed there. I nearly forgot to mention the mini bar. Whilst I did not consume any of the contents, the fridge itself was great for keeping a few bottles of orange juice, beer & some milk for tea coffee cool, & helped make spending time in the room more comfortable. The swimming pool was absolutely amazing, clean and warm, with a lovely calming atmosphere for a refreshing swim after tiring days out in and around Beijing. I just find it hard to believe that during my 12 night stay, I was the only guest there to ever use it, my own personal swimming pool! The location was ideal for what I wanted, near to where my friend in Beijing lives, just 10 minutes from Goamoa Metro station, The China World Trade Centre, and a plethora of really good restaurants and shops. The staff were all friendly, polite and helpful, as was what I found out to be the room service robot which followed me into the lift several times! I am sure there are less expensive hotels in Beijing, but I looked at plenty in that area that were far more expensive, did not look as good, nor had a swimming pool. I thoroughly enjoyed my 12 night stay at the Avic Hotel, would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to other people. There is no need for me to add any photos, those I took of the inside of the hotel, foyer, pool and my room, all look exactly the same as those on booking.com. There was only one small negative. I had not realised there would be a 500 yuan deposit at check in, refundable at check out. Fair enough, not got a problem with that, but would have preferred to have known about it in advance. It could just be that I did not read the T&Cs properly, In any case, it was not a problem as although my bank card details were taken on arrival, payment was not actually taken from the account until after I had checked out, and for the correct amount, so in effect, I never did pay the deposit, only for the actual cost of my stay. As I say, only the smallest of negatives, and possibly my own fault for not reading T&Cs anyway. For anyone wanting to stay in Beijing, I would thoroughly recommend The Avic Hotel, a beautiful hotel at what for me seemed a very reasonable price, especially given the beautiful swimming pool which I used most days.

The only good thing is there are plenty of food options for their buffet breakfast. Interesting food options indeed, for example they serve Goose Lip Vegetable Salad. Rarely write a bad review but I think I want to share my experience. Didn’t enjoy the stay at all and luckily only stayed there for two nights. First, the internet is ridiculously slow. I wanted to do a Sudoku on the New York Times app and it couldn’t even load. The housekeeping is terrible. Toothbrush doesn’t come in the room you first got in and you have to request (for free). I requested for a set since I didn’t bring any. The next day the housekeeping threw the toothbrush set away and didn’t replace a new one. Had to request for another set the second day. It’s late November when I stayed and it is -10 degrees outside, but in the room it’s 27 degrees according to the meter - stuffy and too warm. There’s no way to turn the air-con (they probably turned the central system of). You can open the windows to get fresh air but I didn’t since it’s the roof of some other buildings right outside the window. While there’s only the heavily loaded down duvet and I couldn’t sleep from the sweating until I removed the down duvet from the duvet cover. The walls are not sufficiently soundproof, you can hear people talking next door - think it’s a good thing that when you need that kind of comfort to know someone is nearby when the stay is not enjoyable.

Very clean and great service. Very close to a train station if you like the subway. A number of restaurant options within the hotel. Very helpful staff and excellent housekeeping. I loved the under pillow with the sandy stuff in it...very comfy. I am not sure there was a pool or I probably didn't notice as I was on a few days business.
