I enjoyed my stay, it’s close to a subway station like 10 mins walking to Lana temple subway station , which is very convenient , the girls at the reception helped me booking a tour and a ticket for different attractions. I appreciated that the place was clean , the showers very good and also the bed and sheets. The surrounding are not very pretty and can at first give you a bad impression but the place it’s very safe They don’t have a kitchen or access to drinking water.

Some of the people in the room tend to be a little noisy and unpleasant.

This was an all-around amazing hostel! -The staff were great & incredibly helpful, answering any & all questions we had at any hour of the day. I really appreciated their flexible payment options as well. Having 24-hour reception was much-appreciated, for instance, when we needed a taxi to the airport @ 4AM. *Be sure to plan to pay 100 Yuan for a deposit for your bedding when you arrive.* -The facilities were clean & always in order; we really appreciated that the bathrooms/showers/sinks were constantly cleaned & that they provided soap/shampoo. I also liked that each room had a lock so you could feel pretty comfortable keeping your things in there; I never experienced any loss of valuables in my week-long stay at this hostel. -The location is great, couldn't be better, being walking distance to a lot of great spots in the inner loop of the city, & a short walk away from a metro station that'll take you literally anywhere in Beijing; anything closer to the center-center of the city would cost a lot more so this is the best in terms of budget-friendly & well-located. I admittedly didn't use the Wifi since I came prepared with an unlimited E-SIM but I'm assuming that worked well, considering everything else was great; I think my partner could access WhatsApp without an E-SIM so maybe they had it somewhat unblocked. All in all, the good aspects far outweighed the bad; we had a wonderful stay here & highly recommend it. -The common room/space was a bit small so it got noisy when there were a lot of people in it; a lot of the times I resorted to sitting in the hallway which had a strong smoky smell that would give me a headache after a while if I wasn't wearing a mask (masks should be worn in Beijing for the air quality). -The hostel was also quite cold when we went (the cold part of the year, understandably), so I'd definitely recommend packing warm clothes even just to stay inside, if you don't want to be in your bed the whole time. -I would've appreciated mixed-gender dorms for budget-traveling partners. Traveling with my partner, it was a bit of a struggle being separated from her; especially with each room being locked (again, understandable), I felt awkward tapping on the window in the morning to connect with her to start our day. -Doing a tour to the Gubeikou section of the Great Wall on our own, farther away than the tours offered by the hostel, & seeing how easy that was, I was pretty underwhelmed by the tour offered by the hostel. We spent the majority of the day in the bus, longer than we spent in transport to Gubeikou & felt rushed when we got there to actually get up to the wall since we weren't going to pay extra for the cable car ride. I'd recommend offering transportation from the hostel with group rates available instead of roping people into a larger city-wide tour that moved so slowly.

Best hostel in BEIJING, great staff. Crazy traveler's staying there, had a lot of fun

The location by the Yonghe Temple made it easy to get around, and was close to Sanlitun. Staff were also very helpful and accommodating, such as helping us set up some of the apps we needed on our phones. The atmosphere was also very open, which made it easy to meet with other guests. Some of the people in the dorms, despite it being summer, thought the A/C was a little too cold and decided the whole room should have the A/C turned off all night.

The staff however was absolutely fantastic. Super friendly and incredibly helpful, they really are the added value of that hostel. Some power plugs are compatible with the 2 pins EU plugs (very convenient) but not all of them. The hostel would benefit from upgrading all power plugs to the more universal version.

It was actually possible to book this hostel. Many others were impossible due to mismatches between Chinese and Western apps. Location is okay, close enough to a Metro station and not too difficult to find. Line 2 blue. Lama temple, exit B. Out, then follow the road and turn R L R at the intersections - five mins walk. The desk is open 24/7 so early morning checkout is possible. Definitely go to the "Mutianyu" great wall section, it is seriously impressive. You don't need a guide or an organised trip. Just go by yourself. Leave early morning, meet and join the other travellers doing the same thing along the way. Great day out. Get to blue line 2 Dongzhimen exit B. Find and take the 916 express bus (or the standard 916 if you can't find the express stop) then A23 or A24 bus. Get out at the roundabout stop. Then turn left into the carpark. Exit carpark on walking path on right near big "you are here" type sign and then short walk up to the entry. Buy the ticket that includes shuttle bus and cable car return. Take 3 litres of water and snacks. "Alipay" app has a transportation tab that has a Beijing metro card AND a Beijing bus card ? The attitude of the staff was short and curt, bordering on impolite. This is not usually a problem in China, usually the service industry workers are friendly and polite. No bath towel is provided. Not even a disposable one. No cold drinking water dispenser that I could find. There is a hot one though. No privacy curtains on the bunk beds. No individual lighting. The WiFi is wayyyyy too weak, it seriously needs an massive upgrade. The room doors have a loud confirmation voice that says in Chinese "Hello, door unlocked" and then "Door locked" or something to that effect, this is totally unnecessary and extremely annoying when you are trying to sleep! The floor is polished tiles that become as slippery as ice when wet - be very careful! The designated area to hang your washed clothes out to dry is in the rain! Highly inconvenient.... There are no actual bathrooms. Each individual shower door opens straight into the hallway. Each individual toilet door opens into the hallway too. The sinks and mirrors are in the hallway. Not a problem for boys, but not the best situation for girls. There are not enough toilets! Too many guests, not enough toilets. This results in people using the showers as urinals out of desperation which is pretty gross and adds to the next problem... The cleaners do NOT do a very good job of cleaning the shower that has plastic mats. If the other showers are in use you are forced to use this one, and unless you want to shower with the revolting smell of accumulated urine you have to clean the entire shower properly yourself first - clean the walls and then lift the plastic mats and clean underneath them thoroughly. Not pleasant. This is a combination of the lack of toilets, bad design of the shower and laziness on the part of the cleaners - which makes you wonder what other shortcuts they are taking... The air conditioning.

Good lactation.. Good staff. Clean The only issue can be ...the hostel doesn't have a kitchen for guests.. The only issue can be ...the hostel doesn't have a kitchen for guests..

Staff are invaluable, and it's a social hostel.

For the options in Beijing, this was a fantastic option. The cost was great value and overall they had lots of accommodations. The other guests seemed friendly. Beijing is a very large city, but the location was near a good train stop, so it was easy to get around. The floor was a little dirty and the showers were a bit unclean and hard to use.

Location are good, room are confortable, staff clean often 2 month after my check out I’m still waiting the 10$ deposit I’ve gave for the key! Nobody was on the reception for my check out I let the room on the desk they found it but still never receive my deposit!!!

  • Engine customer May 2025

It was pretty clean with a shared bathroom and multiple showers. The showers were cabin showers. The beds were comfortable too. There was not really a common room to sit in, especially when you sleep in two different dorms.

  • Engine customer May 2025

It wasn’t clean. I asked the reception to ask housekeeping to clean the floor in the room ( and under the bed ). They told me it wasn’t their job to do so. Beds are not comfortable at all.

staff were great I liked it all.

Everything is great from the position to the room itself. Beijing prices are too high compared to the rest of Cina.
