Guest House Sunline Beppu - Hostel

The best hostel in Japan. It has everything you need and has an onsen in the hotel. Staff was awesome. I would recommend this and would definitely stay there again None

The cafe is cozy. Location is near bus station. Clean room and common areas. Staffs are professional and very helpful. Nothing.

No private showers. It was not a problem for me but it might be a no go for other travelers. The in-house onsen is very good though.

I stayed in the dorm. The beds had slide down retractable curtains which were nice. And each room had a locker. It’s really easy to get there as the airport bus drops you a 4 minute walk away. The train station is really nearby, like 10 minutes which is good. I didn’t like that there was only one small washroom on the second floor for all the dorm girls to use. Often the mornings were busy with everyone trying to get ready.

The staff is super nice! The place is cosy, clean and comfortable. There is a coffee shop on the first floor with really great coffee.

Great location, access to onsen and kitchen space was appreciated. Really liked that onsen as open to guests all night. We stayed in a Tatami room and the mattress was very confy Traditional pillows that are a bit on the harder side. Onsen was closed from 9:30pm-10pm for cleaning and no access after 9am

The space of a bed was bigger and more comfortable than I expected.

great vibes, very affordable, super friendly staff! loved the onsen in the hotel (: we also got lucky with an amazing view of beppu tower!! the room itself is a little old and dusty, but not bad at all.

Thoughtful, spacious, stylish and clean! It all just felt really thoughtful. It was quiet, a couple steps from the water, great location in town, the Onsen was great. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Couldn't recommend higher.

Everything was great and up to my expectations.

Sunline Beppu is the best hostel experience I think I've ever had. This was my second stay, and it was just so good. The beds are comfortable, and the spaces for the beds are generous and cozy. The place is stylish, in great shape, and clean. The staff are so warm and bright and welcoming that just entering the lobby feels like a genuine welcome every time. The lobby is an excellent place to work or hang. You're a 30 second walk from the water, you can't swim there, but then a 7 minute walk through the park along the water gets you to a beach where you can go for a dip. It's a quiet location and still super close to the main street where all the action is. It's a 2 minute walk to the highway bus, where you're likely to come in from. The Onsen is rad. I can't think of anything. It was just really great.
