Hotel staff unhelpful, hotel shabby and tired, stay constantly disturbed by weddings plus no separate area to escape wedding guests. No room service, no bar music. No one serving behind bar, don’t we wanted a drink we had to go ask in reception. Drinks placed on dirty tray, food wasn’t nice. Just awful stay

The appearance & location were nice. Very noisy with the flight path right above. The family room (305) was very unusual - mini cases of stairs inside the room, beds tucked in the eves for the children. Nothing like the family rooms in the photos when we booked. The duvets were winter weight which was far too hot. The carpets didn’t look hoovered & the windowsills hadn’t been wiped for a long time. No bathtub. There were lots of cupboards in our room which then had unfinished bits behind them. The windows did not have safely restrictors on them for children and they flung fully open & the room was so high up it was dangerous. A full bright sensor light was unhelpful right near the children’s bed and it rarely went off.

Great location. Lovely and peaceful Hard to navigate with crutches, old building lift only goes to first floor.

The grounds are fantastic Breakfast, good selection but hot food was not great

The receptionist was helpful when I asked to change room (there was a wedding reception going on when we arrived, and the room we had been allocated was very close to this and therefore very noisy). The breakfast was good, and the bar and restaurant serving staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to Birmingham Airport and so there was aircraft noise at certain times of the day.

Initially the character Workmen in the lobby , it’s a wedding venue, room was supposed to be a ‘superior room’ basically a loft room lots of stairs, breakfast not good value for money
-
The staff were extremely helpful It was very busy and so everything was stretched.

Beautiful buildings It’s summer in the UK, and we are in the middle of a heat wave yet there was no air-conditioning. However, I do not know whether that is due to the official drought that we are in and they were saving water? But it was a very warm night with just a fan blowing warm air!

It was a lovely and historic place to stay. I enjoyed the garden and the history it held. The room and facilities was exceptional, and my requirement was also met. I’m afraid I didn’t enjoy the breakfast.
