The room was acceptable although the bathroom was extremely small The breakfast was ok but the the public areas are unclean with the chairs being particularly dirty The evening meal was poor and the less I say about the restaurant the better. I’ve been in cleaner roadside cafes, again the upholstered chairs are disgustingly dirty and I had to ask for the table to be cleaned before I sat down

the location short staffed in the bar

Very good for kids - everything was thought of, even the little play area in the restaurant was perfect so we could enjoy a cup of tea and watch them play. Breakfast was great, pancakes were welcomed! The room wasn’t completely clean, there was dust and cobwebs on the ceiling, a thick line of dust behind the headboard and the sink could’ve done with some Limescale remover. The pool water was very cloudy, and the grouting of the tiles was also a bit dated.

Most of the staff were super friendly and helpful to us, it was a lovely atmosphere and the pool area was great. Sadly it did not start well at reception, one poor receptionist was dealing with a customer, I was stood waiting. Then another chap came to the desk. Another receptionist appeared and she then served the chap behind me! I was a little annoyed and voiced i had been stood there longer (yes I did pull a Karen) and the receptionist then got angry at the original receptionist blaming her! Then the air con was not working in the room, I did go to reception to be told it was working on the system! Of course it was my peri menopause brain! They said if It still wasnt working they would provide a fan, I later went back to say it definitely was not working, it has a explanation mark on the display, they said they would find me a fan, this did not materialise, so I spent the night trying to deal with hot sweats and the window fully open did nothing to help. 4am woke up to what sounded like tin cans being put in the recycling bin, now I do appreciate it was a hectic night with the reception flooding but even so they could of offered to move rooms. Also the TV was what odd, no BBC channels and you would put it on a channel and then it would revert back to the menu. Now I know I sound like I've lost the plot at the best of times but that did mess with my head.

Location was the main reason for booking this hotel as it was close to the event we were attending. Ground floor room was reasonable size with double bed, desk, sofa, table , kettle, hairdryer , ironing board, iron, slippers, dressing gown and refrigerator. Good lighting and long mirror you're able to get up close to. Lunch at hotel which was good and had various options. Cannot comment on breakfast as not taken. Room 202, Premium Room. Staines on carpet, cobwebs, bed too soft, no lifts to upper floor. Bathroom so small! Shower is in the bathtub and no hand rail for safety when trying to get in/out of shower bathtub in such a small space. We had other family members staying in Premium Rooms but they all had different options, one had Nespresso machine but no sofa, another had no fridge etc. Only one member of staff was helpful (didn't catch their name) as for other staff members.. very rude. Hotel air conditioning was not working for the duration of our stay. A fan was left outside our room the next day but we asked the cleaning staff to remove it as we will not use, it was full of thick dust, clearly not been cleaned for a very long time. One staff member contacted my sister-in-law whilst attending an event and spoke to her sooo rudely!! I was with her when she took the call. Literally accused her of causing a flood in her room! It was completely unacceptable the way she was spoken too. Staff member has no customer service experience whatsoever. Didn't ask my sister-in-law any questions but accused her. We had 38 family members staying at this hotel between 2-5 nights and every single person will never stay at this hotel again. It was evident the hotel had a staff shortage. We noticed how they argued between them whether they are to attend to guests at reception desk or in the bar/lounge. This is my second experience of staying at a Holiday Inn property but never again. Please Note: this property is owned and operated by Kew Green Hotels, under license of IHG Hotels. IHG you really need to consider this property operating under your license as it's shocking!

The hotel’s location was ideal for our three-night stay, as we wanted a comfortable base from which to explore both the Peak District and Lincolnshire. We made good use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi during our stay. Unfortunately, the sauna was not working, which was a little disappointing. All the staff were very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was also very good, with a good selection of options. Overall, we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay and found the hotel to be a great base for exploring the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the bedroom. The room felt extremely small for a double bed, with only around 30 cm of space between the end of the bed and the wall. A large-screen TV was mounted on the wall directly in this restricted space, which made moving around the room quite awkward. Each time we walked past the end of the bed, we had to be extremely careful not to hit our head, and there was even a concern about accidentally injuring our eyes on the TV. We did not feel that the layout and arrangement of the room were well designed, particularly given how limited the available space was. For the price we paid for three nights, we expected a more spacious and comfortable bedroom. This was the main disappointment of our stay.
