Elyton Hotel, Autograph Collection by Marriott

The Hotel does not have a business center. I like to gather my thoughts then type them out. I usually like to either be in a business center of the hotel or an area that has a table or two off the lobby. This hotel did not have it. My room had an elevated credenza that I could have used but the mounted TV was directly above it. Except for that, the Elyton Hotel was a great choice. The rooftop bar/lounge Moon Shine was very accommodating and staffed with some fun people as well!

Relaxing

Charged for room purchases I didn’t make and calling customer service sucked - no help at all - calling hotel no help - no one wants to take responsibility! Sad and gonna share Overcharged and talking to A 1 for customer service sucks

Parking was very expensive. No ice machines. The A C seemed weak and staff didn't seem to know how to operate the thermostat either confidently.

I want to thank Juan the manager and the whole staff for taking care of us. I have recommended staying here to all my friends and family.

Hotel was clean and had an artsy aesthetic and warm feel, front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. No questions were left unanswered. would stay again. The elevators took so long. this may be something the holtel couldnt help because of age but i did not like that part. I usually love a nice gym in hotels I stay at. this one was a tad small.

The hotel is old with nostalgia. There were no amenities specifically for AlphaKappaAlpha as our 5 day convention was going on. The hotel can really use more upgrading. There was no complementary breakfast and I was told we should go next door to the Fairfield hotel for that. The food on the rooftop of the Elayton was very good. Over all, I give the hotel 3 stars. I was a little disappointed because the hotel did not honor the AKA convention rate and it was not worth the cost.

Room pillows on sofa were disgustingly nasty. The sheets were cheap and kept coming off of the bed. Bathrooms were clean and room was clean, but windiws tint was peeling so the view was not good. Coffee pot was really dirty, I have to clean and sanatize. Quite disappointed fir a $300+ night hotel room in Birmingham, Al. The food in the restaurants was great. Breakfast in the main restaurant was fabulous. Staff were very nice. I was not impressed, the Fairmount Marriott would have been a better choice with an exec suite if I only knew how small and the condition. Old was expected upscalesd rooms were expected.

Beautiful hotel! Great location and everyone was super lovely! The pet fee wasn’t disclosed and when we checked out it was very steep. The cost of the pet fee was more than the nights stay ($200 for 1 pet and an additional $50USD) for a second.
