The entrance and public areas were clean and stylish. On arrival - and throughout our stay - the staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was very good and the bar area was pleasant and relaxing. Our room was a decent size and very comfortable. Our bathroom was down several steps from the main room, due to the quirks of the building. The location of the hotel was very good - not far from Birmingham New Street and within a short walk of many good restaurants, the Museum and the city's major squares. As an unexpected bonus, the Italian sports delegation/officials were based at the hotel during the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, which added to the feel of being on a proper European city break! My only slight quibble - and this is minor compared to the many great features of the hotel - was that the positioning of the gel/shampoo dispensers in the bathroom was rather awkward for someone quite short like me, and the nozzles on the dispensers were not long enough to be able to operate them easily whilst under the shower.

Great location and lovely hotel. Staff super helpful and professional. Would've been good to know there was a significant amount of work being done at the hotel, prior to booking

Great location. Very nice, comfortable room. Friendly staff. Very good sandwiches in the bar. Great bar with excellent cocktails. Scrambled eggs at breakfast could have been better.

Location Overpriced and the cooked English breakfast was lacking in portion size
