Maison Loire

The signage was a bit subtle. We weren’t sure we had the right address at first.

Absolutely everything was perfect. Location, ambience, hospitality, breakfast. Parking could be difficult at times due to limited street parking in the area. We had no problem parking right in front May 10th.

Location & Ambiance: The location is fantastic. Staying in the King's room was a treat, and the entire hotel's interior decoration is truly impressive. Alexander and Nicolas personally collected and curated the posters, dishes, furniture, and small decorations to perfectly maintain a 19th-century feeling—it felt like stepping back in time. Modern Comfort: The hotel masterfully provides that classical ambiance without sacrificing modern convenience. They clearly focused on what matters: the shower and water pressure were great, and we loved the deep bathtub, perfect for soaking tired feet. Unforgettable Breakfast: The breakfast will remain in our permanent memory. The elegant dining sets, the gracious service, and the lovely view of the garden made it an exceptional start to the day. Parking: Street parking was a little bit of a pain during our stay. Due to a large academic convention in the city, the streets were much fuller than usual. However, this inconvenience was completely solved because Alexander was incredibly helpful and personally assisted us with parking throughout our stay, which was greatly appreciated!

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Maison Loire. Our room was fabulous, very comfortable and authentically furnished with a great view. Host Nicholas was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and breakfast was excellent. The location is excellent but quite the peaceful oasis for being in town- we especially enjoyed the garden.

The Maison was perfect and the attention to detail outstanding. Breakfast was king and queen worthy and our host Nicolas terrific. It was a very happy and comfortable stay. I fully recommend staying at Maison Loire and spending some time in Blois.

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend escape to this lovely bed and breakfast. It’s a short walk into town with a great location. Nicolas the host is incredibly friendly and fun to chat with. He also gives amazing recommendations on local things to do in the area and makes you feel very welcomed. The entire home is decorated very elegantly with top notch design. The cherry on top is the very cute dog, Siddhartha. He’s like a big teddy bear, and welcomed us every morning with a lot of tail wags and kisses. I highly recommend this spot! Nothing comes to mind. Amazing stay.

Outside space to enjoy, beautifully decorated and breakfast was intimate. We loved everything but some might miss a TV, we did not.

Maison Loire is a beautifully restored 19th century stately home. The host, Nicolas, was amiable and helpful, spending a good amount of time with us, suggesting places to visit, restaurants and providing a history of the area. Our room overlooked the Loire river and valley. It was beautifully furnished with antiques, and the bed was very comfortable, with lovely, comfortable linens. The bathroom was remodeled and equipped with modern fixtures and a large walk-in shower. Self-serve coffee, tea and filtered water were available 24/7 in the dining room. Breakfast was served each morning and included pastries, bread, cheeses, fruit, eggs, fresh orange juice, and delicious coffee and tea. Although the weather didn’t permit us to enjoy it, there is a beautiful terrace and yard at the back of the house with a nice view. Free street parking is available but it can be challenging to find nearby spaces.

We only spent 2 nights at Maison Loire, but we wish we could have spent a week! The owners managed to create a home where history lives in today's life, and antiques are combined with modern amenities and impeccable cleanliness. It is very difficult to create not a fake antique, but a real antique, on which the “dust of centuries” will not lie. "For the body": perfect white bed linen, excellent water pressure in the shower, excellent lighting, super powerful hairdryer, very high quality shampoo-conditioner-shower gel, lots of space at the sink for your jars in the bathroom, excellent darkening windows for sleeping, small but spacious closet. For the soul: a stunning breakfast “on silver” by candlelight, views of the Loire from the windows and garden, wine tasting or the digestif in the cozy living room after dinner. Amazing!

We loved the Maison Loire. It was beautiful place to spend time and relax. Nicolas was a very welcoming host, and he went out of his way to help us on a number of occassions. The breakfast was superb. Nothing, it was all positive.

The host Nicholas went way beyond expectations...he gave us the feeling that this was our home for the four days we were there ( often in B&Bs you get the feeling you are intruding a bit on the owner ) His breakfast was exceptional served in a classy style. The common rooms were beautifully decorated with art, comfy sofas, and outstanding view. We appreciated the abundant info on the history of Blois and the region given by Nicholas. He went out of his way to make to make us feel so welcome.

The whole stay at Nicholas's mini chateau was a wonderful experience. The apartment was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen (only without dishwasher), a lovely patio and garden with view of Loire Valley only five minutes to the center of Blois. Nicolas is a great host. All information to be able to fully enjoy the beauties of the Loire was provided by Nicolas, which makes the stay really comfortable. Therefore, we highly and sincerely recommend Nicolas place. /

It was so welcoming and warm, and the proprietaire Nicolas, was able to help guide sightseeing, and talk about some of the wonderful local nuances, like wineries and eateries. The place has so much charm, and we loved that there was no tv, so you could simply be present . Nothing we didn’t like, it was perfect

it was small, pretty with access to the garden. Nicolas was a super attentive host. we weren’t there long enough and had to leave really early.

This lovely beautifully renovated mansion keeps the charm of belle epoque and helps one to immerse in the atmosphere of old France. Our room was spacious enough, with large stylish en suite bathroom. To make the immersion complete, the design of the rooms does not envisage either TV’s or fridges, there is also no lift, but there is wifi, and the signal is good. Our recommendation would be to take one of the rooms facing the Loire side (ours was facing the street), which should be quieter, and offer a nicer view, even if those rooms are a bit smaller. Special thanks goes to the amazing host, who not only welcomed us wholeheartedly, but also provided extremely useful tips for the town and the region. The house is close to the train station, walking with the luggage however proved to be cumbersome as the road ran partly uphill and was partly blocked (at the time of writing). There is not much around the hotel itself, but the downtown area is a short walk away. On the improvement side we would suggest making the common terrace more welcoming and attractive to guests; as we saw it, the garden furniture was dusty and not as neat as the rest of the house. The view from the terrace is amazing, so with a bit of effort, it can be a true highlight of the house.
