Great Location. Hot AC, old lady receptionist

The Location is excellent, very close to city center and bus routs. The staff are exceptionally friendly and nice from front desk to clening ladies. The Wi-Fi in the rooms is strong and there is enough places to sit and work in the beautiful vintage hotel lobby. The facility is very old, there is NO AC and the room was like a furnace during the heat wave. The bathroom is very dingy and small, and the shower is not hygenic (the bidet is incorporated within it which is discusting). the toilet kept dripping water (very loud stream all day and night non-stop). The bed is very small and the carpet & furniture are old (not well kept and very dusty) the room is not very clean, and there is a strong smell when you get in. There was only a small old fan that was very loud all night. The dispensing machines don't work well, but there are multiple of them.

The bathroom had a foul odor.

Very close to city centre. This is a very old hotel that has not been refurbished at all. Everything looks tired and there are bits of the hotel that smell weird. I spent one week. Booked early but the price was extremely high. The room was spacious but everything was old and tired. Linen was clean. Housekeeping every day. Breakfast basic but plenty and exactly the same every day. On warm days the old air condition unit does not cool enough the room and makes too much noise. The toilet fixtures are dripping water. It would be nice if they could provide a small fridge and kettle in the room

Location is very good, staff also was very polite! The rooms condition was awful (maybe it is up to me, my personal opinion)

Location was very good. Needs thoughtful renovation with its history in mind.

the Hotel is at a central, great location, friendly staff, breakfast was ok. we had a superior room, it had enough space and was not loud (as many raters before, there's a cinema next/below to the hotel). The Hotel could be renovated but it was ok for a short stay. There was no glasses, fridge or anything in the room, no option to make yourself a tea or coffee. Beds were ok but not the best ever seen...

Great location. Convenient to the train station, sights, and restaurants

The location is excellent The room is not at all like the photographs. It is very outdated with old carpets everywhere. This could be a great hotel but it is in desperate need of a renovation. Get rid of the old carpets and very old wall paper. This makes this would be gem a sad old hotel.

The hotel is wonderful. It's an old Italian palazzo, right in the middle of the historical center (and yet in the safe distance from the most touristy area). We booked the room with the balcony and it was totally worth it! Would absolutely recommend it. The buffet breakfast was very good. The staff were all wonderful. A hotel always plays such an important role in short trips, and Palace Bologna Centro made things magical for us.

The location The carpets all need replacing, uncomfortable bed and pillows, loud sound all day and most of night from movie theater next door, soda machine on floor not working, inconvenient electrical plug locations, tv not working. Photos on booking.com not accurate. Palace is a misnomer

Location was good, very near Piazza Maggiore and the historic centre. I'm not sure, but I think the last time the rooms were refurbished was probably in the 1980s. While the room size was decent, the bathroom was bizarre, with a bidet incorporated into the very small shower. With shower curtain. It was like walking into the past. In terms of value for money, it was bad.

very noisy creaking floor

The hotel’s location was excellent — it was very close to all the main sightseeing attractions and surrounded by great shopping areas. We could easily walk to popular landmarks, restaurants, and stores, which made our trip much more convenient and enjoyable. The central location saved us a lot of time on transportation and allowed us to explore the city comfortably. Highly recommended for anyone who wants easy access to both sightseeing and shopping. Everything was fine.

. Very old furniture, everything is very old , need a real renovation
-
the location is perfect no shower gel, no soap, no shampoo. no phone to call the reception. reception not answering to normal call from mobile. I wasn't able to take a shower

Location, comfy bed, decent breakfast, friendly/helpful staff. Bathroom was a little smelly (old pipes?)

Good, central location with friendly staff. room was fine for myself. I don't know if it was the cinema next door but in the evening it was quite noisy in the room. I think you could hear the films from my room. If an early night was needed you might have trouble sleeping.

Absolutely nothing!! No one should ever stay here and it should be removed from booking.com immediately!! This place was a complete dump! I never leave a bad review and this has never happened before. The outside of the hotel is very deceiving. Large beautiful exterior with 3 giant stars on the front, under Hotel Palace, and then you step in...still not bad a first glance. Nice lobby, nice front desk, nice friendly staff. We were on the 5th floor, top of the building. So excited to walk in and see the skyline of Bologna. Not to be...after opening the door into a tiny dingy room with a small bed to the left and a dark curtain hiding what I thought would be a beautiful window to open, turned out to be a huge skylight that didn't open. Sun beating in, broken air-conditioner and standing fan in the corner for air. There was a desk with an old, what looked like, Victorian pink chair, filthy and stained! The carpet was disgusting and filthy. This place was like a flop house, worse than any of the worst hostels I've ever been to. It reminded me of the crack, hourly hotels in San Francisco back in the day on Lombard Street. I immediately tried calling the front desk, but no answer after numerous attempts. I went down the elevator and explained to them that this room was unexceptable and not what was advertised on booking.com at all. The pictures that are on that sight are lovely and an obvious farce! Don't believe everything you see! So they explained to me that these were the rooms, I asked to be moved to a better room and was told they were sold out, and it was impossible. I asked to have the air-conditioner checked because it was obvious it wasn't working. He explained that they had no control over that, that it was the municipal of Bologna that controlled the heat and air. I did finally get him to come up with his maintenance man to look at it. They were both dumbfounded. They did figure out that there was a button to crack open the skylight. They could do no more.
