This is an old fashioned B & B, meaning they provide a room with a private bath and communal breakfast. It seems like a home converted to five suites, with a common breakfast/salon area. It is in an apartment building in what we found to be a great location. It is an easy walk to anything in the center of Bologna yet quiet and comfortable. The entire facility was very clean, though a bit cluttered. The clutter appeared to be things for guests, brochures, guides, books, maps, that sort of thing. Our room was situated off of a common courtyard and included a small balcony. The room had a lot of furniture for its size and felt cramped to us. We are both minimalists, so it may not be an objective observation. Everything worked and again, was very clean. The closet had plenty of clothes hangers. Our room came with a complimentary bowl of fruit and bottle of water. Soap and body wash were provided in the bathroom. The breakfast was pastries, small panini, cheese, fruit, juice, yogurt, and coffee freshly prepared by Agostino. Agostino was very thoughtful and really wants his guests to enjoy their stay with plenty of recommendations for things not just in Bologna but regionally as well. It was very quiet at night and in May when we stayed the temperature was comfortable. For my tastes, too much clutter.

The B&B was charming. It was as one would expect: the host is wonderful, the interaction with the other guests was warm, and the location was great. There really wasn't anything that I didn't like.

This is our second time staying at Antica Residenza. Thought the stays were a little more than 10 years apart, we loved it just as much this time as our first visit. The location is fantastic, the space is incredibly comfortable, there's always interesting people to meet over the breakfast table and, as always, there is Agostino - Antica's incredibly welcoming and knowledgable host. We highly recommend it!!

great location --is an older facility but what isn't in a 12th century city-- had two rooms and limited views-- quiet and comfortable and good access with elevator-- eating establishments near by and central city-- breakfast was okay , coffee good-- Augustino is a great host with valuable information and speaks english-- good suggestions on what to do-- attentive... water and wine was provided / plenty of choices of fruit breakfast could use more variety-- as was same every day-- stayed 4 nights-- perhaps adding choices of cereals not just crossants every morning --rolls for meat / cheese morning sandwich was hard

Well equipped, great location. Easy to walk to center of town and many restaurants. The apartment is decorated nicely-we like the origami touches. Good instructions for how to access on first day. Having a washer and dryer was handy. Found several bugs each day. Some were small, flying moths, some ants, and one that I don’t know what kind it is. The presence of bugs was gross. Also, the dryer does not dry well-regardless of what cycle we use, it cuts off frequently. Finally, in trying to navigate the Domus website, it was very frustrating. Got error messages with no explanation of what was wrong. And when I tried to use the chat feature for help, no one responded. I tried using chat at different tines of the day, but never received any replies with that feature. Finally, Domus did email me and helped me via emails.

From the moment I arrived, this property impressed on every level—immaculately clean, effortlessly beautiful, and brimming with charm. Every detail reflects character and care, making it feel both welcoming and unique. Agostino is the host with the most. He makes you want to be his best friend immediately.

Everything was excellent. Augustino, the host, was fantastic.

I really liked the charm of the place, from the lift to the little outdoor patio to the décor in the room. Our host, Augustino was a gem! He always had fun stories to share and loved making everyone coffee! We were greeted with a big bowl of fresh fruit upon arrival and a cheerful hello! He was always there if we needed him, for directions, call a cab, dinner suggestions or good books to read. The location was convenient to the old town area and two markets are within a 1-2 minute walk. I would definitely recommend staying here, if it's available!!

Great location and attentive host Nice welcoming touches, water and fruit bowl. Very Noisy area with the window open till1am or more, but host is not keen on you turning on the aircon for long periods. The room is very hot even with the aircon. Bathroom is really hot. No ability to make yourself a tea in the afternoon Mini bar not really needed and it makes more heat On level 3, host is not keen you on using the small elevator as it disturbs neighbours

My wife and I travel Europe frequently. Our host Augustino was the most accommodating and gracious host we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He served delicious food and provided tasty recommendations on restaurants. He also helped with taxis and transfers. We watched as he helped us and other guests with command of numerous languages while being warm and attentive. The accommodations are steeped in history with charm and character not always accessible in the modern world. Lots of history and character. Augustino is a national treasure, as is his establishment. No complaints!

The location is fantastic! And the host is fantastic! There are things which could need a touch up, but it is a lovely B&B! And we would love to come back!

Agostino is a lovely, hospitable and helpful host whose B&B is very comfortable and authentic. It is located a short walk from the city centre. There was nothing we didn't like.

Agostino was a great host and was a wealth of information with things to see and do and helped us enormously. The breakfast was excellent and the location is great, only about a 5 minute walk to the central piazza. The rooms are full of charm and well appointed. Would definitely recommend this B and B. The other guests during our stay were all repeat and loyal customers and also spoke highly of Agostino and this accommodation. Hopefully we will return to Bologna in the future.

VERY CLOSE TO EVERYTHING, SPACIOUS PLACE, VERY CLEAN INDEED, AGOSTINO WAS GREAT OWNER OF THIS FANTASTIC PLACE. HE MADE US FEEL WE ARE AT HOME, VERY KIND AND HELPFUL. I WOULD SUGGEST TO PAINT SOME OF THE WALLS OF THE ROOM SO THAT EVERYTHING WOULD BE JUST PERFECT
