La Chartreuse-Bordeaux

Very nice house, about 15 min by walk from the city center. Clean and tidy room with a terrace. Breakfast is wonderful. We will definitely stay at La Chartreuse again if we come to Bordeaux next time. Nothing

Clean, warm, comfortable, design was lovely. Wonderful host! Low ceiling in some areas, just watch your head.

Breakfast was served by the host out on the patio and had a good selection bread, croissants, jams, fruits, cold cuts and cheese. Tea and coffee were available during the whole time in the dining room.

Though apartment is not inside city center, but just 10 easy walking to the center. There is bus stop in front of the apartment (though we have not tried as don't know how to get the ticket, etc). Apartment inside a safety gate with nice garden around. Breakfast is super. Though simple, but you got all you need from bread, meat, eggs, coffer, juice, yogurt, fruit.... We stay apartment with bonus bed upstair for family of 3 in bath/toilet separate room. If you don't want to walk, there is a restaurant outside the apartment. Supermarket is 7 mins walking distance. Good to stay. garden and breakfast.

The owners were so nice and friendly. Beautiful courtyard and rooms were very nice.

Modern and clean Nothing

We could walk to town about 15-20 mins, the tram was very convenient too (5 mins walk away and take you straight to the airport). Piere is a wonderful host, he made us feel welcome. We also liked the breakfast, not elaborate but more than what we needed to start the day. Love the quality umbrellas he provided too, good attention to details None

Like a bed and breakfast, but we had a 1.5 floor suite that comfortably fit three of us. Very nice and clean. Easy walk to center of town. Hosts were wonderful - informative and attentive.

This was an overnight stop after staying with friends in the region and we were not disappointed. Our room was well appointed, spotless and comfortable and the location was convenient for our needs. It was especially useful to be so near Line A on the Tramway to get to the airport the morning after our stay. Breakfast was excellent too.

La Chartreuse was close walking distance to the tram, to restaurants and any scenic places. Pierre and his son were very accommodating. I could not have asked for a better experience on my first visit to Bordeaux. Good communication, Easy access to the property. Comfortable bed and cleaned and lovely room. Lovely breakfast. Thank you very much for making my four night stay comfortable, safe and friendly for a solo traveler. Wonderful people.

Exceptional

The building was beautiful, the room very spacious , clean and with excellent decoration, the owner was very polite and very kind and overall we had the best stay that we could imagine .

Clean and simple

Within 20 minutes walking distance of river, but with the advantage of a tram stop nearby, if required. Modern, spotlessly clean and comfortable accommodation. Excellent breakfast and friendly host with good command of English Nothing.

Safe and secure and peaceful. A good sized room. Great having a communal dining/living area guests could use outside of breakfast time to read, make a coffee, play cards. Five minute walk to the tram line which takes you quickly into the old town. Line A also takes you to the airport in 40 minutes. Pierre was quick with communication and always obliging. Nothing. It was very nice.

The location - in a quiet neighborhood and near the metro. Bakery and a few restaurants down the street. Could walk to the main plaza area if you wanted. Secluded 'chateau' that is elegant and very secure. We selected the basic room but there are suites/ more choices if you want to splurge. In

Host was very accommodating and sympathetic to our late arrival which was further delayed due to flights running late. Everything as expected, if not better. Nothing

A delightful place, a mere 15-20 minute walk away from the Old City of Bordeaux. Tucked away from a small, inconspicuous street, a gate opens to reveal a magnificently refurbished historic mansion with a private garden. The rooms and suites are beautifully and tastefully decorated and boast private terraces. The owner personally serves an excellent breakfast every morning to make you feel like his personal guest. La Chartreuse radiates the elegance and refinement of a time long gone, when travelling was a thing of personal encounters and individual discoveries, the opposite of anonymous mass tourism. Highly recommended. Rien de tout.
