The hotel was close to roadworks and my room was shuddering as lorries went past . It was clean but basic and definitely needed an upgrade at the price. The food was very Pub grub and should have more facilities for those who need gluten free and vegetarian for example. I was very disappointed.

Restaurant seemed to close early. Couldn't order meal at 8.20 pm and bar was shut by 9pm.

Arrived late, got the poor manager out to open up, which he did with a smile. Very friendly very accommodating and a good breakfast.

The atmosphere, the staff the location and the rooms. This place is a treasure chest. We had their Sunday Roast, which was so tasty and an excellent price.

We arrived in the afternoon,we went to our room. It was ok but very basic. We couldn't find the remote control for the TV went and ask a member of staff. They informed us that the TV wasn't working and hadn't for some time. Beings that we were staying until next day not having nothing to watch wasn't an option. We decided to leave and they were refunding us,then they had a last minute cancellation. (Funny that) We were grateful as we wasn't looking forward to long drive home. Room was comfortable and we had a TV that worked. We had a meal there.the steak was like eating shoe leather(not that I've ever tried to eat a shoe) Not eaten there before, menus always looked nice. So won't be eating there again. Don't think room is value for money.

Reasonable food; Excellent beer ! Small room, a bit run down, but super comfortable bed. The shower room was cold; there was an electric towel rail but no cable connecting it to the electricity ! The breakfast was "disappointing" lovely bread but the "pain au chocolat" were hard and the coffee was awful !

I liked the feel of the property on arrival. Warm and welcoming. The room I stayed in was large very comfortable large bed. Dislike would be the dormer style window wouldn’t allow the 3 windows to close leaving a gap to the elements. Tv remote didn’t work staff tried to sort but unable to.

Bookin.com was only deceptive. I made the reservation at 10:34 pm on booking.com when it was known to booking.com that the hotel is not manned anytime after 10:00pm. I got to the hotel and no one was on ground to check me in at about 10:45pm. I checked back with the hotel on the morning of 2th and was told the hotel is not manned after 10:00pm and that booking.com knows this and that since the hotel did not check me in, I will be refunded by booking.com between 3 - 5 days. However, getting my refund from booking.com has been a night mere as booking.com has been referring me to the hotel and the hotel referring me back to booking.com. A situation that is highly frustrating. Please refund my money.
