Location Location We stayed there for 5 nights Terrace is inconvenient and has a different boss.

The location, in the centre of Bristol was ideal for our weekend stay.

The A/C did not work (during a heat wave)

The hotel is very good, the staff welcomong and helpful. We were overcharged by 100 pounds for a two night stay which I only discovered when I returned home and checked my bank account. I can onlt imagine this was a 100 pound fine for car parking which I had already paid before arrival and which was on my bank statement. We left on Sunday at 4.00 pm and were told we could stay on the day of departuure till 12.00 pm at night. I don't expect to stay in such an expensive hotel as the Marriot and be subject to such a mistake. We have stayede there several times and it has always been excellent.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city, in a great location close to the theatre and restaurants

The room is spacious. It is near the city center. The Air Condition was not working.

Location is fantastic...close to city centre and bus stop. Also has a Tesco across the street for food and drink. The decor is fantastic in the lobby and the furnishings tend to the more traditional and lush. Rooms are comfortable and pleasantly appointed. Lots of comfortable bar and tea rooms to refresh or chat. Staff is friendly and professional. It didn't help that the weather was some of the hottest on record and the air conditioning was inoperable. Windows don't open. Worse the ice and water machine on my floor were broken They y closed the bar earlier than advised at check in. Could not get a cold drink after arriving back from outings. The wifi was unreliable and poor. The afternoon tea on the menu wasn't available due to kitchen staffing. I was so uncomfortable that I slept at my daughter's house most nights and checked out early. I wasn't offered a refund or an apology or a credit.

Service was terrible; no one answered the phone; no customer service whatsoever; restaurant waiters were rude, even insulting, always in the weeds

I’ve stayed at the Bristol Marriott multiple times over the years, and until this visit I would have happily rated it a 9 or 10 out of 10. That’s why I’m giving it a 7 out of 10 overall, even though this particular stay was significantly below the standard I’ve come to expect. The positives remain the same: the staff are genuinely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The location is excellent, the gym is well-equipped, and the bar consistently serves excellent lattes and espresso drinks. In previous stays I’ve also found the rooms to be quiet and comfortable, with effective blackout curtains that make for a good night’s sleep. Before arriving, I specifically requested a quiet room on an upper floor away from the elevators. My first room had noticeable music noise coming from outside, which seemed to travel through the walls despite the rooms being advertised as soundproof. The front desk kindly moved me to another room, but it wasn’t much better. I could hear people talking and shouting outside at night, the ever-present seagulls, and guests arriving via the nearby elevator. It wasn’t directly next to the lift, but close enough that the noise regularly disturbed my sleep. To make matters worse, someone pulled the fire alarm around 1:30–2:00 a.m., creating chaos throughout the hotel. Obviously that wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but it was incredibly disruptive and, unfortunately, affected my sleep for the remainder of the trip. Given the circumstances, I was surprised there wasn’t any gesture of goodwill offered to guests, even something simple like a complimentary coffee or breakfast. One long-standing criticism is the restaurant. After a poor dining experience several years ago, I’ve never returned and can’t recommend it. Likewise, if you want an espresso drink, order it from the bar rather than the restaurant. The quality difference is significant, despite the similar pricing.

It’s a beautiful hotel, location is great. Parking is nice and easy. Breakfast was great. The beds for us were so hard, it was so uncomfortable. The air con also was broken and it was so hot and humid in the room so we didn’t sleep great either night.

It was 91 degrees and HOT in a place that usually requires heat not air conditioning. They still won't me over with friendly efficient staff and courtesy of water on i e in the lobby My biggest complaint was sketchy wifi for free.

Location is great. Sits next to the Hippodrome which was our destination for the trip. Room was OK, not great. Breakfast was good (it was a steakhous turned breakfast restaurant in the morning). All in all was an OK stay. We were supposed to get our room at 3pm, but the staff kept telling us it wasn't ready. The staff kept us uninformed as to why until we really pressed for answer. Turned out the previous guests in the room were "Elite Members" and they kept the room until well after 4pm. After 4pm we talked to the staff again, and they came up with an offer to reduce the room rate, although that came too late. They should have done that up front, as it was their flawed policy that allowed certain people to check out late, interfering with our plans which were not our fault.

Great Location and the breakfast was buffets style and the. staff very attentive and helpful . Most importantly to me the breakfast was hot . Rooms was spacious. Very close to the hippodrome and bus to airport. The windows ain’t sound Proof at night it get very noisy outside but no fault of the hotel but you can hear people shouting and screaming late at night echoing into the room. Also room was cold and very light duvet cover. Also no shower cap in bathroom amenities which other four star hotels hold. The Safe is positioned really high up which can be dangerous to take a chair up to try and get stuff out.

Great location. Well cared for and stylish. Good sized room. Nothing stands out as a negative.
